Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

“very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Barrafina is wonderful but has limited seating & no reservations. We were lucky in getting a table outside on the street & despite the chilly evening still enjoyed the great food & service. I would definitely go again & hope next time to sit inside!

“Feels like you are in Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Great little restaurant with fantastic fish. Reminds me of a little fish restaurant in Barcelona. If you love tapas and great food you must go here.

“great food & atmosphere, pretty slow service ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Great selection of tapas, authentic atmosphere, nice staff - however this restaurant needs about 2 more waiters as right now the speed of service isn't excellent. Despite this, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice tapas experience

“second time..even better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

This was my second time eating at Barrafina, and I want to be back soon! Though it has its downsides - long queue maybe at least an hour (evening) and big price tags for small dishes; it is definitely becoming one of my favourite tapas/seafood in london! The clams in lemon oil were delicious - swept up every last drop of herby oil with the warm bread (ordered separately). The octopus with capers were deliciously tender with great fresh flavour. I was pleasantly surprised by the rice morcilla (spanish blood sausage) on toast with duck egg - very delicious taste. The only slight not good dish was the prawns - it just needed fresher prawns and less time on the grill.

“Favorite meal in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Went here based on recommendations and so glad we did. It is a small restaurant that would be very easy to miss. There are a few tables outside and inside you are seated at a counter surrounding the kitchen. We came early for lunch and were seated right by where the chef was preparing everyone's meals and it was the best seat in the house!

We loved watching the chef and her assistants work preparing foods while we waited for our meal. The more we saw her make the more we ordered. It all looked great! The food is simply prepared but tastes deliciously complex.

If you go you have to order the tortillas. They are delicious! We had the original tortilla and the spinach and jamon (ham) tortilla. We preferred the original tortilla. We also had the pimentos were delicious small bell peppers roasted and salted. The tomato bruschetta was delicious. The asparagus was tasty as well.

We loved it so much that we went back another time.
