Description: Set in a striking Georgian townhouse in the heart of Londons Fitzrovia, Bam-Bou Vietnamese restaurant is always buzzing with a mix of local media types and West End foodies. Furnished throughout in a French-Vietnamese colonial style, Bam-Bou is divided into two handsome dining rooms, four private rooms and a top-floor bar serving exquisite cocktails and Eastern teas and infusions. The menu showcases the best of southeast Asian cuisine, with authentic recipes and ingredients sourced from Thailand, China and Vietnam. You can feast on familiar favourites like green chicken curry, but we recommend the Hanoi-style short ribs and the seared scallops with sweet pork and perilla cress. With its flawless service and unique decor, Bam-Bou is an elegant restaurant that is perfect for low-key lunches and cosy dinner dates. As its minutes from Soho, Bloomsbury and Oxford Street, Bam-Bous location couldnt be bettered.

“Second visit : just the same”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

It's fusion/Asian food in an old restaurant (for many years the White Tower, London's best and most expensive Greek resto) so you are eating with chopsticks in a traditional panelled setting : a bit odd ,but ok.

The food, except the tasteless dessert, is good. You don't often get good puddings with Asian cooks, so maybe I was foolish to order a mango tart.

It is very much the same as what was on offer two years ago. Maybe they have a formula that does not need to change. Maybe the media people who come here ( and it was the same 40 years ago) are not too demanding. Maybe it's expense acount eating, but you will pay £60 a head with a cheap bottle of wine. Still, the flavours are subtle and original and the service impeccable.

“A tasty experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

First time visit to this restaurant and we were very impressed. The Red Bar was great, with good selection of drinks. The restaurant and its menu was very good, with some very tasty food, especially the grilled bream and the filet steak. Prices are very reasonable and the wine selection is also good and not expensive either.
All in all a very good experience and we would definitely go back

“Great atmosphere and exciting food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

My organisation rented out the top room for an all day meeting with lunch as part of the deal... An excellent decision. The pomegranate and noodle salad dish was wonderful as was the whitebait and the chicken dishes. The only no-no for me was the pork spare ribs where I bit into a mouthful of fat (not my thing at all)... The atmosphere and service were first class - I think when you are working with a bunch of people who are on their annual 'away day' it is really quite something to make the participants feel relaxed and not like stand-ins for 'The Office' and Bam-Bou managed this very well. I would go back again and again.

“Great value for money at lunch time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

I went there for a quick meal at lunch time and they have really good value menus for lunch. The food was good and the location and atmosphere excellent. Also recommended for dinner although probably more expensive then.

“Fantastic food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

My 4th visit and, again, high quality. Sea bass and ribs were the highlights, but only the chicken noodles - a bit bland - and the price of small ice cream portions diappointed. The food was beatifully cooked and presented. It included a wide range of ingredients that are well put together. Service was excellent.
