“Reasonable quality and price for this Mayfair Japanese”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Wide menu with many set lunch or dinner options and lots of choice of noodles, rice bowls, sushi, sashmi, teriyaki, tempura, etc. Reasonable prices and food quality. Upstairs room is more pleasant than downstairs. Service is friendly but some waitresses do not speak that much English.

We are very sorry you were not satisfied with the food we provided. However our fish come straight from the market every morning and we do everything to make sure our fish are served at the table at their freshest. As a result we have gained our costomer's confidence over the last 36 years and have become one of the busiest Japanese Restaurant in London serving over 300 customers everyday. We value your comment as much as other favorable reviews and we assure our valued costomers that we will make even more efforts to bring the best Authentic Japanese Food in London.

“Busy, busy, busy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Very efficient seating, the man ran up and down finding seats for all awaiting at an amazing pace. Once seated we experienced two tables where people had arrived after us were given attention first. A minus to the waiting system. I had two Japanese specialties, one of which was spicy tuna tartar with quail. Loved it! My company had a set menu and was all smiles diving into his misu first and then on.

“Satisfying”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Not sure about the sushi/sashimi selection as it has been ages since I visited when they were on Hanover Street. But recently we enjoyed the sukiyaki & yakiniki don which was equally good and satisfying. The waiting staff needs a bit of training as she forgot our request a couple of times, nothing too major but the manager/host can be a bit more friendlier as well. Go for the food but dont expect much of their hospitality service.

“Rude staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Food was ok sushi was really nice but the manager was really rude, really did not feel welcomed, gave us the bill as soon as we finished our food (we have not ask for the bill and we have not finish our drinks).. The manager asked us to hurry up (to finish up) as "customers are waiting"...!
The bill was also wrong..
