“If you like dim sum, you can't miss this one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

I judge Chinese restaurants by their hot-sour soup. It's on every menu, and gives a basis for comparison. Yauatichi's was the best I've had in a very long time. This is not one of those places where they roll around carts. Think the Peninsula in Hong Kong or the Oriental in Bangkok. Not cheap, but delicious dim sum at quite a reasonable price, given the quality of the food and service and the upscale ambiance..

“Excellent again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We last dined here in January 2011 and looked forward to returning - we are a family group of 5 adults. The waiter was excellent, describing and recommending various dishes. Highlights were the Prawn and Beancurd Cheung Fun, Roasted Duck Pumpkin Puff, and the Szechuan Seafood and Tofu Claypot. Disappointments were the Lobster Dumplings, which were overpriced at £11.90 for for 3 bites, and the Stir Fry Chilli Seafood with Asparagus which had asparagus stalks but no tips - where did they go?! Overall a lovely evening.

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

I was introduced to Yauatcha very recently by a friend, 4 of us went out for a meal.
I am not a huge fan of Chinese food, but will tuck into ' good Chinese' every now and then. I have eaten in Hakkasan a few times and the whole experience was good( if a little pretentious) , but the Yautcha experience is just so much better. The atmosphere was really relaxed and a fun place to be with friends, you can order as little or as much as you wish from the menu and the staff are very helpful helping you work through it. I really enjoyed the food, it was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. My favourite being amongst the Scallop Dim Sum and Soft Shell crab.
My only critic would be the waiting staff were completely rushed off their feet and service could have been a little better.
Cant wait to go back......

“Not true Dim Sum”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I totally agree with a Chinese person's review from the 27th of October.
This restaurant is not that good.

OK, the food is not so bad (small portion and nothing special), but their service is totally NOT Dim Sum. I couldn't stand their slow service. I have been to so many dim sum restaurants in the world, but this was the worst. Great thing about Dim Sum is that you go there and they serve you one after another quickly. The waiters need to be trained by Chinese to understand how they should serve food.

I won't go back there again. I think this is a place for people who haven't eaten in a real Dim Sum restaurant.
