Went there tonight with my 50% Spanish girlfriend after hearing rave reviews about this place.
Well what can I say, the meal was superb. The restaurant was not too busy when we arrived around 7:30 ish on a Wednesday but it soon filled up. Nonetheless, even when busy the service was friendly and attentive.
We ordered 6 tapas, Pulpo a la Gallega, gambas al aljillo, pollo al aljillo, chorizo al vino, tortilla and a salad. I must say the pulpo was by far the best I've had outside of Spain. Just the right level between soft and chewy, with some just about palpable sea salt crystals and the exactly right sprinkling of paprika. The garlic sauce on the chicken was second to none, and the prawns cooked just right.
My one and only gripe? No Spanish beer and I had to settle for a Sagres (an Estrella Gallicia would have rounded up a superb meal).
All this plus a good Crema Catalan shared, a glass of house white, two pacharans (aperitifs) and coffees came to £50. Easily what one would spend on that in Cafe Rouge or Strada.
Great value and will definitely be back again
