“A near perfect greasy spoon... not much elbow room.”

This is authentic East End... The Italian family are full of chat as they serve the (almost always packed) cafe. And the totally nail a fry up.

“Friendly Full English in Bijou Art Deco Splendour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

This place is famous for its untouched early 20th century fittings, but it would be nothing if it didn't serve great cafe food in a friendly atmosphere for a very good price. Come for the grade II listed interior, stay for the 70p tea.

“Breakfast with Banter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Staying at the newly opened Travel Lodge around the corner we took the advice of "tripadvisor" and went for a fry-up and were not disappointed. The place is truly and East End cafe with lots of characters nothwithstanding the brother and sister running the cafe who are full of banter

“Best full English breakfast in ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Saturday 23rd March, it's cold and starting to snow, we are both feeling just a little hungover and have a busy day ahead of us. What is needed is a good fry-up.
E Pellicci is a family run cafe, been in the same family since 1900 (so it says on the menu)
At 9.30am there was only one table left, we took it.
A wonderful cappuccino whilst I checked out the menu, only one thing on my mind though, a full English with toast and extra bubble with a mug of tea.
Really hot, good quality ingredients, and served with a smile without much of a wait.
My girlfriend was even given a piece of bread and butter pudding that "mummy had made that morning" to take away for later in the day.
Perfect way to begin a good day.

“Still producing great Italian home-cooked dishes.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

An East End institution since 1900,Pellicci's is a family-run place I have known since I was a kid in the 1940s living a few minutes walk away.My dad used to take me there when Nev senior ran it.Now living on the Kent coast for many years I try to visit it whenever I get the chance.
I went there last year and it was as busy as ever, now run by Nev senior, his dad having passed away,I believe, about 5 years ago.
A traditional cafe with a strong Italian accent, small but with a great Art Deco interior of glass and marquetry, its homemade food makes it a delight to eat in but be prepared to sit in close proximity to other diners. For me this only adds to the charm of the place.
I had the home-cooked cannelloni,a dish for some reason not always on offer in Italian restaurants, and it was delicious.
Just go and experience this unassuming yet special place and understand why it has been frequented over the years by Hollywood greats and British showbiz stars.
