The salads are absolutely delicious and the deserts the best I ever had. The restaurant is fancy and the staff very nice.

“Worth every penny”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Our first visit to Ottolenghi's won't be our last. Service was superb from the moment they rang up on the day to make sure we were still coming. It was obvious they'd read the previous reviews (as we had) and taken the feedback very seriously. They made sure we were aware in advance that we only had a 2-hr slot; that we would need to order about 3 dishes each. When you want to consume a huge plate of food and sit around for hours, then you go to a Hungry Horse or Wetherspoon's. When you want a beautiful, imaginative eating experience with top-drawer professional service, you go somewhere like Ottolenghi. Our booking was for 6.45pm but we were seated immediately when we arrived 20 minutes early. Our waiter took time to explain the menu clearly and advise us on how to order. He also noticed that my husband was disabled and offered to cut up his food for him if necessary - something that's never happened before. We ordered 3 dishes 'from the counter' ie cold/starters and 3 dishes 'from the kitchen' ie hot/mains. Each dish was an intriguing combination of vegetables and/or meat, spices, sauces, pickles, and garnish inspired by a variety of mediterranean culinary traditions. By the time we'd scoffed them, we couldn't eat another thing, not even the mouthwatering array of cakes and desserts. The service. although never intrusive, was so slick we were finished by 7.20 and home in Surrey less than an hour later. It cost £75 including two large glasses of house red wine, which I thought very reasonable, given the quality.

Simply gorgeous! Pricey - but you get the quality you pay for. Desserts are amazing and great coffee too.

“Amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

I have been here before but returned for a meal with a friend before going to the ballet. The food was - once again - really lovely. The wine was great too, as was the atmosphere and service. The only thing I would say is that it's a little pricey (for the amount of food you get), but it's not a massive issue. I will definitely be going again!

“Ate through the whole dinner menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

Went here again for dinner on December 24th . Awful night weather getting there but the restaurant was packed as usual. We had an awesome meal eating all the dishes on the menu between the six of us . Just so good and interesting . White wine that evening was (appropriately ) made in Bethlehem by Salesian monks! Utterly delicious. Service as always was intelligent , charming and knowledgeable, particularly from the charming Polish waitress and the well organised Maitre'D. A thoroughly good gastronomic experience. Favourite dish was the aubergine one and the mackerel, and the duck egg and the beef and ………
