Description: One of only 15 UK restaurants recognised by the Thai government for its quality and cuisine, Nipa wears its heritage proudly on its sleeve. The teak-panelled interior is inspired by its sister restaurant in Bangkok, with a profusion of orchids that feel strangely at home in their first floor setting in the Lancaster Hotel overlooking the Italian Fountains of Hyde Park. Three set menus and the extensive à la carte offer a mouthwatering range of intense Thai flavours, mixing traditional dishes of central Thailand with regional specialities.

“Got it right in the end”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

We came here for a late meal and had overall a very good experience,
We shared the starter for two which was a nice selection, fish cakes, satay etc.
For our main we had the prawns with roasted garlic and onions and egg fried rice. Unfortunately when it was first served the prawns were cold and served with a Jasmin rice. The staff corrected this quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The egg fried rice was the best I had eaten in a long time, for sure nothing too complicated to cook but a lot of places cant seem to get it right.
We would definitely go back here.

“Not that great - have definitely had better in the area.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We live in Bayswater and eat out every Friday. As we love Thai food and wanted to try something new, I went there with my husband and 3 year old son. We ordered a noodle dish with chicken, egg and greens for my son and a chicken curry and a pan fried prawn dish for ourselves. It tasted pre-made as it was very chewy and my son's noodle dish had a very bad after taste. As a result my son threw up when we got home. Won't be going there again.

“Great evening”

The food was really great - full of flavour without being over spicy and hte menu offered a good choice. The cost was worth it based on the location and quality. Good company too.
