Description: Cantina Vinopolis restaurant in London by the Thames under the huge Victorian railway arches at Bankside is the public restaurant of the Vinopolis wine museum. You know you’ll find a blistering selection of interesting wines, but you should also know you’ll be enjoying terrific modern European cuisine with more than a nod to the flavours of the Mediterranean. There’s no signature dish, just a serious focus on freshly prepared steaks, chicken, fish and salads with flavourful, simple side dishes. The smart casual restaurant makes the most of its setting with light wood tables, open kitchen, and easy contemporary décor under the soaring arches. Cantina Vinopolis spreads the love of wine at regular wine tastings and dinners.

“Great building, fine wines and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012 via mobile

Love the spacious interior, makes for a great atmosphere. Had the set menu, and the meal was good. Though if I had gone for the a la carte I'd expect significantly more given the price. As it was the set menu is reasonable for what you get in terms if food and experience. Good selection of wines and a nice location.

“OK but I'm glad I didn't pay for it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

I went with work as part of a team event so everything was paid for. I was expecting the worst because I can't stand the taste of wine but I made sure to have a sip of all of the wines offered in our tasting session. I didn't like any and couldn't smell any of the notes described in the accompanying talk, to me it's just alcohol and I'll never understand why wine lovers haemorrhage money on the stuff.
The main event for me was the meal. I chose the liver and made sure to order two sides after seeing some of the portions sent to the other tables - they are small. The meal was fairly tasty but could have been served hotter.

“Salmon wasn't cooked! Good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Was really looking forward to going here having seen it rated highly in the Evening Standard so we went there on a set menu... there wasn't much choice but that was to be expected on an offer menu. However, I was really disappointed at how small the portions were. Plus, the salmon i ordered for main course was not cooked. It was very busy in there but I would advise visiting somewhere else in that area which will have better portion sizes for your money and an equally as nice setting.

“Nice cocktails and nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

2 for one cocktails made it good value and the restaurant is good if you want a reasonably priced meal. As you would expect, some nice wine to choose from over dinner
