“Surprisingly good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Came here yesterday for lunch with a colleague. Not knowing the area I used the power of Tripadvisor to find somewhere suitable and it didn't disappoint. The sea bas with coconut rice was delicious. Thank you!

“Saturday dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Having been to the Matinee of Kiss me Kate to celebrate my husbands birthday we then ate here. There were four of us for drinks, a three course meal with wine and coffee plus a friend from the cast of the show who had a drink and main course and the bill was just under £200. All the food was excellent with good friendly service. We were not rushed or hassled for the table even though we were in the restaurant from 5.30 till 8.30. I cannot rate this place too highly.

“A treat at the end of a business day - Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Great food (fish and vegetables), fresh cooked, appealing appearance, stop counting calories when you pick your desert! Just enjoy every bite! Very friendly and dedicated personnel. Don't miss this restaurant during your next stay in London

“Waste of time and money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

The waitress ignored us all evening and didn't even know what one of the dishes consisted of (turns out it was a white fish that was grilled but she just said - ''dunno'')

There were no vegetables served with the meal and its was way overpriced. The portion size was good but the wine wasn't!

The tables were cramped together. The toilets needed a refurb .

“QUALITY FOOD - REASONABLE PRICE (FOR LONDON!)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Waterloo Bar & Kitchen, on Waterloo Road - (just at back of Old Vic Theatre). Called in for lunch- either book or arrive early, this place is popular. Tidy, unpretentious, good menu (focussed); classical influences on traditional british fayre - almost bistro prices. Extensive wine list. Professional & friendly staff. Popular with pre-theatre crowd. Highly recommended. Old school crowd - who refer to 'Yurp' (as opposed to Europe!). Goats cheese tart with sweet onion and date - sublime. Duck confit main course - super. Will call again. Nice sunny day over London - occasionally eclipsed by red double-decker - nice ambience. Would like to visit on an evening. Only suggestion would be - either to offer Fixed Price Menu or discount for 2/3 courses. particularly on lunch-time.
