Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

“This could be the best lunch in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Lunch at this restaurant is splendid in every way
The calm welcoming professional service
The outstanding food
Their vegetarian menu is just amazing - and veggie food can be a challenge to many restaurants- but their conventional menu is just as good
The generosity of the menu - very good value indeed
The enveloping sense of wellbeing which lunch there gives all our family - aged from early twenties to sixties - so it caters for all
So good we have been back four or five times
Thoroughly recommended
Deserves the hyperbole of this review!

“Never fails to impress”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

I simply love this restaurant! After a couple of visits a year for the past few years I'm yet to have anything other than a wonderful time: the service is literally impeccable, the food is the best I've tasted anywhere and the set lunch menu (which can be flexed to suit vegetarians) is simply unbelievable value. Go!

“Perfection!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

As a fan of UK Masterchef, dinner at Le Gavroche was the obvious choice for a 50th birthday present. I did have to wait a few months until we visited the UK, but the wait was worth it.

Dinner was perfect in every way. We have never been to a restaurant where the "house" sparkling wine is an 8 year old vintage champagne (Martel 2005) - very classy. We were three for dinner and each of us chose a different entree, main and dessert. Each plate of food was beautifully presented and more importantly tasted wonderful.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Michel Roux Jnr who was charming. My partner mentioned it was a birthday celebration dinner. He has then advised the kitchen of this and my dessert arrived with a candle and birthday wishes in icing on the plate - so thoughtful.

The service from the greeting at the front door onwards was impeccable.

Le Gavroche was perfection in every way......you must dine here.

“"Wow"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

An amazing dining pleasure, organised by my wife this was by far one of the finest meals we have had the pleasure eating. From start to finish we were taken through a magnificent and exquisite culinary journey. Every plate of food meticulously presented like fine art, the aromas tantalising your very taste bud. The food is certainly worthy of its 2 Michelin star standing. The stone bass with pastilla my personal highlight. We opted for the menu exceptionnel with wine, if only we could dine there every month! All the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. We will definitely be back.

“The best food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

What an amazing restaurant, but the staff's knowledge and advice, is what makes this a special place. The training that is given, plus the staff's aptitude to learn is special. Yes the Roux family have managed to achieve the a special place for food...It would be better if I did not comment, That is the magic of this chef family. Brilliant.
