If you would like a great, real Jazz bar with the quintessentially English politness, don't go here!!! Go to Ronnie Scotts, Nightjar (Shoreditch) or Pizza Expreess Jazz in Soho, I have been to all and they all exceed in food, drink selection, service and Jazz.
I had booked a table for my boss and his clients and we pre-order and paid ahead of time for the mediocre food and pre-ordered wine, but not paid for the wine, though was not informed of this as I thought it would be the same procedure as the food, not clear!!!! Anyhow I don't think one single native English person works in this establishment, the reason I say this, and it's important, COMMUNICATION, I told the waiter we had pre-order four white and four red, then later on in the evening asked about the wine and I said yes put the rest on the table, not knowning we appratenly finsihed '8' bottles bewteen 15 ppl and four of the guest weren't drinking!! Basically they added 4 more bottles to the bill, me thinking it's the ones we pre-ordered. The waiter should have informed me that ;you have finished all 'your pre-order wine' now, paid or not, t doesn't matter, why have the system in place!!!!!!!! I rang them up and basically accussing me of lying and even hinted that to my boss when they spoke with him!
I'm was so excited and thrilled when I booked Dover st Restaurant and Wine bar, but this put a sour taste in my moutth! Myself, boss and his clients will certainly won't be returing again!
