Description: This traditional Italian restaurant, reputed as “A village restaurant in the heart of London”, prides itself on its 'family run' feel yet maintains an air of professionalism when it comes to the service and the authenticity of the food. It feels like home – if Italy is where you're from. It offers the kind of meals a mother would be proud of. The decor creates an intimate ambience with antique furniture and pictures making it an ideal business venue at lunch and perfect for a romantic dinner a deux by night. Patrons who can be found here are a host of regulars, celebrities, tourists on the trail to and from the nearby British Museum and theatre luvvies. The regulars are a-plenty, for the place tends to bring you back, just like Rome's Trevi Fontana. Menu highlights include Crab Meat and Prawns Salad, Risotto Salsiccia & Barolo, Pappardelle with duck meat & Sage, Whole Grilled Seabass, a Prime Scottish Beef Filet with Blue Cheese and a the traditional Tiramisu which is a must to try. But don't worry, if your favourite dish is not there, Our senior chef’s are more than happy to accommodate your request! We cater for any occasion and up to 35 people on our private room. T & C Apply. This is the place where you can enjoy a relaxing evening out. In fact, you will relax so much you won't want to leave!

“Too much good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

A small and slightly cramped restaurant but worth the squeeze for the good food on offer. I ordered the crab meat cocktail as a starter, which came out in the size of a main. We all felt that our starters were delicious but far too large. The crab meat was tasty but at times a little too salty. A whole avocado came with it, which complemented it but again was far too much.
Our mains were also very nice, mine being the lamb with garlic and rosemary. I believe lamb should still be pink, which this wasn't but that is just individual preference. It was written in the menu as a lamb steak, but was in fact a lamb chop. For that amount of money I was expecting a better cut than that. However, the flavour was quite good and indeed a delicious meal all up, even though I couldn't finish it.
My only complaint is that it was far too hot in the restaurant.
I will definitely return but only order 1 course.

“Great little neighbourhood Italian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Visited after a show. Friendly welcome. Would book if going again as restaurant is small. Food arrived promptly and was tasty and hot. Portion sizes were generous. As usual in London service charge irritatingly added automatically to the bill.

“A great little find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

Have been here a couple of times with family and boyfriend. It was a random find on our first occasion, and a place we had to come back too. The food is delicious, and great sized portions for the price. Lovely cosy little restaurant.

“What a find!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

This was one of those occasions when you book a table at an unknown restaurant and arrive only to see the exterior and think you've made a big mistake. However, this cozy little rendezvous is a real gem, serving good fresh Italian food at reasonable prices. Most of the customers were speaking Italian which speaks for itself ! Our party had scallops, grilled sardines, swordfish and sea bass, every dish was excellent.

“A lucky find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Had to go to London for the day, don't go that often and hadn't done any research as to where to eat, which is most unlike me who usually gets a headache thro looking at reviews!!

I used to live in this area of London in the 80's so was generally trawling the old haunts when my husband and I decided to try this little restaurant. We ordered starters and garlic bread along with the main meals (in case the portions were measley) Pleased to say the portions were very generous and we left as happy bunnies. Lovely food, would go again without a doubt.
