“Great pub!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

This place does have many areas that could be improved but judging by the number of people that use the place it is not a major problem.

The food is tasty and the portions are generous. But be prepared to wait, they get very busy.....

There is a wide selection of beers to choose from and I understand the pub is one of Fuller's flagship venues.

The Churchill is an excellent traditional pub with hundreds of items of memorabilia scattered around the place. It is not a squeaky clean, lifeless 21st century mausoleum offering prepacked portioned food..... I loved it!!!

“Thai in a British pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Read many positive comments about the Thai resto but the food itself was just acceptable. Portions were generous but everything seemed to be covered in sauce and not the delicate flavoring that I expect from Thai food. Fortunately, we got a table even with no reservations after being asked to wait for 30 minutes.

“Yikes! The smell!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

Wow, I can't believe such a difference between my experience at the Churchill Arms and those who gave it 4 or 5 stars!

We were recently visiting London, and while walking around the Kensington Palace area we saw the Churchill Arms. We were immediately enamored of the wonderful exterior and decided we must go in. Plus we were thirsty anyways from all the walking around. This was mid-week, in the mid-afternoon.

So, as we walk in the door, the very first thing that hit us was the odor. Not good, a mixture of old musty damp smell combined with the aroma of urine. Half our party of four was about to turn around and walk right out, but the other thirstier half said "come on, just one beer".

The place was not crowded, there were about 12 or so people scattered around the front area. So we sit at a table, and notice it's filthy. Ask the girl behind the bar to clean the table, and after a bit of a glare she did wipe it off. We get our beers and sit down. And notice the whole place is not very clean....the carpet, the chamber pots hanging from the ceiling in need of a good dusting, etc. And the smell, it just didn't go away.

We skipped trying the food, gulped our beers, and left. Never ever to return again.

“Best cheap eat ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

Have been on a number of occasions and this Thai within the pub never disappoints. The last time was with a number of friends and we opted for the weekend special of massaman curry and it was delicious. On all the occasions I have been the place is always packed which is testament to the food served.

“From one world to another in a few steps”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

This is nice: a really traditional pub with a door to Asia. Have a hot and fragrant curry with a cask ale and have in a room full of plants or a room full of chamber pots on the ceiling... No blaring music, no tv and lots of locals. It's wonderful.
