“VERY BEST Sushi in London.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

I am 100% sure that this is the BEST Sushi place in London.
Good quality, very welcoming atmosphere and charming staff with full of hospitality.
The interior is not very impressive but hey! Good Japanese restaurants usually do not care about the ambience.
They do care about the FOOD. So it’s a good sign.

“Still the best sushi in North London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

Despite a change in ownership in the last couple of years (if I am not wrong the previous owners went bank to Tokyo) the sushi here is still of the highest quality at the fraction of the price paid in central London. Try the inside-out spicy tuna rolls or the eel nigiri, both outstanding. Black cod with miso also a must try. Ambience is very low key, but it doesn't matter, you here to enjoy sushi and you will.

We have had several superb meals at this restaurant, it is not cheap but worth every penny. If youi like Japanese give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

“Deserves to flourish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

This place has been here years.

The food is Japanese middle-of-the-road.

It's stood the test of time.

Lots of others around it have come and gone, and been much much worse.

The world can now buy sushi at Marks and Spencers and Pret A Manger, so it needs to make sure its standards don't drift.

Really good Kyoto style Kaiseki food is available in central London / The City.

So no need to rave over this place, but it is better than other many other local places.

There are lots of Japanese people living in the area, but not many Japanese customers at Cafe Japan
