“Great dining experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Visited here for Sunday lunch on a beautiful sunny day.
We managed to get a riverside table overlooking the tower bridge.
We both enjoyed our meals, Sunday lunch & lemon sole. Although the Sunday lunch was excellent I was a little disappointed that no potatoes or vegetables were served with the fish.
The service was excellent, particularly from Andrea for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Would definitely return if when we get the chance.

“Half a quails egg!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Went there for a birthday dinner and ate the £25.00 menu. Personally, I find three courses a bit of a challenge and would prefer it if they had offered a choice of two or three. Looked at A La Carte menu but a rump steak came in at £27.00 with chips an extra £4.00!

You got a cocktail with no discernible alcohol. I had the salad which promised a quail's egg of which there was half! Talk about portion control. The steak was nice but the chips were flabby.

Summer pud was OK.

There was no white 'house wine' at £22.00 a bottle so we were offered another bottle at £28.00 which seemed excessive. Drank the 'house red' which was vile and yes the wine lady kept topping the glasses up as if by way of a punishment.

The waiting staff were nice but incompetent and gave us all the wrong dishes!

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We booked a table for Friday evening and had the set menu - 3 courses and summer cocktail for £25 which is very good value. We arrived at 8.30 and had the option of sitting outside which is worth doing, the view we had of tower bridge was fantastic.

The service was very good, the food was tasty however I was worried it would be a bit minimal as it was a set menu at a good price but we had good size portions and good quality too.

We got some drinks which pushed the overall cost of the bill up but it was still a good price considering you could easily pay the same money in a chain restaurant like Pizza Express/Nandos etc.

Only reason they do not get 5 stars is because the service was a bit slow. I know its a hard one to get right because some people like to sit for hours and others do not want to feel rushed but we didn't get the bill until 11pm and were a tad worried about missing the last train. Just a little speedier would have been nice.

I will quite happily go back again.

“Good Food & Excellent View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

8 of us went for a Birthday meal.

The whole evening was great. We all decided to eat from the set menu, from memory £29 for three courses including a summer cocktail. Overall everyone thought the food was lovely and the service was excellent. The waiter was very good; friendly but professional.

We had both the house champagne and wine and they were very good. When booking I asked if we could have a round table and although she said it couldn't be guaranteed, on the evening that's what we got.

It was a lovely warm evening so all the doors were open and the view of Tower Bridge was wonderful, especially as the evening drew in and the bridge was lit up.
