“Delicious ethnic cooking in trendy N1”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

An unpretentious, small and cleanly designed restaurant/delicatessen. Limited but fresh and delicious menu - perhaps five mains (mainly lamb, chicken and vegetarian options). Also nicely situated in the fashionable/boho part of Islington. Friendly if slightly clueless service.

“Food holds the side up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012 via mobile

Full marks for some of the best food in town.
Small place.
Long wait.
Odd service.
Do a take away if you can.

“Food great... Pity the speed and service are terrible.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012 via mobile

I love the food at Afghan Kitchen, the meet with spinach and mixed bean curry are great and the bread is amazing. There are some problems though. The staff are often rude and service is incredibly slow. The restaurant is too small so you'll generally share a table and may have people bumping into you. That said, if you're prepared to wait or get takeaway, the food makes it all worthwhile...

“Okay food, better descriptions needed, staff a bit curt....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

I went for a Take-Away in this tiny little trendy eatery, & had the chicken with yogurt. When I got home I found it was hot like a curry, yet no indication of this was given on the menu. Some people like to know if they're having a curry before buying! The staff lacked manners & were curt to the point of rudeness "what do you want"!!

“Excellent for something different, cheap and quick”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

A good restaurant if you are looking for somewhere unpretentious where you get get good food and reasonable prices. The restaurant is fairly basic in its style, although perfectly clean and well kept, it is pretty small so worth booking ahead if you want to eat at a specific time

The menu is limited to 4meat and 4 veg dishes for mains with sides of rice, bread, chutney which is all very good and filling, the staff are nice if not the quickest but they do bring a relaxed atmosphere that suits the dinning style

Overall an excellent cheap eat, in a good location for socialising in Angel, menu is slightly limited but good for something a bit different.
