“Great Location, Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed here in early December with the family. Location was easy to find just off Trafalgar square, a minutes walk from the tube.
Check in was quick and hassle free and the room was as described a large family room with a small kitchenette. Decor in the room was up to standard for a 4 star each floor has a small courtesy closet with extra towels pillows and bottled water. Room service was available at a reasonable price. They also offered a shopping service for snacks at pretty much high street prices.

Lots of sleep aids available at request, white noise machines aromatherapy etc.

The bar area was small but tastefully decorated with a good range of drinks. Theres a tesco extra down the road which was ideal when coming back late and wanting drinks and snacks.

All in all a pretty good hotel one of the best I've stayed in whilst visiting London.

Room Tip: The family room worked well for us more space and a kitchenette.

Stayed here with daughter and granddaughter for two nights. Check in staff very nice and helpful. Location of this hotel is excellent. Room small but ok, had kitchenette fridge microwave etc. no bath but nice shower area. Window overlooked street, but not noisy at all. This hotel is central for theatres and london eye etc. all within walking distance. (Very helpful instead of trying to find a taxi). Didn't have breakfast at hotel but went next door to Garfunkels. Staff etc all very helpful. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher floors less road noise

We stayed here for 6 nights in June 2014. The room was spacious and comfortable and was on the side of the hotel facing away from the street so was fairly quiet. We were surprised that there was no fridge or safe in the room. We were not offered any concierge help with luggage on arrival or departure. When we checked in we used our global currency (debit) card for the security deposit which we did not know was to be 250 pounds ($500). After we realised these funds were now not available for us to use during our stay we asked reception if we could change to a credit card but were told "No". This was a big lesson - don't use a debit card if you need to use the funds during your stay! The hold on the funds was not released to us until 3 weeks after we got home after several phone calls and emails to the hotel. Overall the hotel is in an ideal central location and is clean and tidy. Walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Leister Square, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben & houses of parliament, etc, etc. Lots of restaurants, shopping and transport (buses, taxis, underground trains nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms facing towards the back of the hotel are much quieter.

I stayed here for 6 nights during the peak season in English summer and it was wonderful. It was a last minute stay and I had to keep my belongings in reception for a night. Despite a mix up on my end, the staff were helpful and friendly throughout my time. It is a mostly business orientated hotel, with a business center and plenty of meeting rooms for guests; I would not recommend for a younger family. With that said, the hotel is located in a prime position! Walk towards the embankment at sunset and you will pass the Sherlock Holmes Bar, and then see the London Eye with the sun setting behind it. A must do at night. It is also a short walk from Covent Garden, which houses theatres, great pubs and excellent shopping. I found myself walking around here every afternoon and still finding hidden gems. The food around the area is wonderful with lots to try! The underground works wonders and is VERY easy to navigate around! The rooms were clean and serviced daily with a fully functioning wifi system and tv.
My advice; stay here if you wish to frequent the West End and areas around the Embankment. One of the best hotels I have every stayed at and I can't wait to go back.

We stayed in The Grand for a night this weekend. The hotel is amazing, very friendly staff and efficient. The location is very convenient for central London, close to Covent Garden, The Embankment, Trafalgar Square and just outside Charing Cross station. The room was ideal for us with a comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities and a water station just outside with fresh cold bottled water. Would definitely stay again.

Very well situated, check in/out stress free. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work, bed comfortable.room size ok but needed a good dust. Didn't bother with the breakfast in the hotel, went around the corner to a Garfunkels. It's ok for somewhere to rest your head which really is all you need if you are out all day. This hotel is also called Club Quarters.

Room Tip: At the back was fine but poor view. Previously stayed at the front noise level was ok

Beware rooms 624/626
I could feel the movement of the guest on and off the bed whilst I was I my bed. I could him him/her walking around their room. I could tell it was a single occupancy as was mine despite the double beds. I guess the staff know the problem hence putting singles in the rooms. It would be ridiculous with couples. The location is 100m from Trafalgar Sq. The staff are very friendly. Luckily my neighbour was quiet enough for me to sleep adequately. Id not stay again though. Too risky.
