“Location, Good Value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

This is a student dorm in London School of Business. Only offer for visitor accommodation during school holidays. I was there for a week during September and enjoyed the proximity to many attractions.

Traveller must note that this is not a hotel and only a dorm. Rooms and beds are comfortable but carpet needs good cleaning. Major down side is the toilet, which is a portable toilet fixed inside the room, and rooms were cleaned only 1 day for the whole week we stayed there. Facilities include laundry, shared kitchen, left baguage service.

Overall, great location (right next to trafalgar square) and good price.

Excellent location as a base for exploring central London. Basic accommodation, but dry, warm and quite clean (well, apart from the carpets). Don't expect luxury at this price but well worth considering if, like me, you are appalled by London hotel prices.
Apparently it was built as the Victoria Hotel and was the first hotel visited by a member of the Royal family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the building on a higher floor to get some light, a bit of a view but...

This beautiful building is just off Trafalgar Square, so a fantastic location to explore London from. If you like luxury hotels then this is not for you, but if you like clean, comfortable, friendly and value for money accommodation you should give this a try.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper ask for a room away from the road, they were very quiet.

Just off Trafalgar square, the location of this simple and clean property can't be any better... The rooms are VERY basic and it does feel like a college dormitory: cheap furnishings and so-so beds... but who cares? It's very cheap for the location, there a clean towels and sheets provided, in a secure building. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location and very helpful staff. Beds comfortable, room fine though bathroom very small. Wouldn't want to stay around property, obviously not comfortable hotel, but I expect most people want what we wanted -a convenient base. It's location is excellent, and despite this generally very quiet there. Am planning to go again in the future

A simple good sized room, in an amazing central location. A two minute walk from Trafalgar square, staff where always helpful and friendly, right across the road from a good pub selling real ales. The room was very quiet never heard any of the other guests during our stay. Washing facilities more than adequate. Reason why we only gave 4 stars was because the kitchen facilities on our floor where stuffy and incredibly smelly. You would not have wanted to spend more than 5 minutes in the kitchen. But over all Northumberland house was more than adequate for our needs.

Spent two nights here last week whilst on a birthday trip to London and found it absolutely fine. Of course with it being student accommodation, the rooms were bare and the bathroom was a wet room. The downside to this was if someone had a shower, the whole pod was soaked. Also with me being tall I found it difficult to bend over the sink to clean my teeth and wash my face.
That, and the whole communal kitchen thing were the bad points.
Everything else was great. The beds were extremely comfy and I fell in love with my pillow. They are two of the best nights sleep I have ever had, despite being in the centre of a very noisy city.

The location was the best part of it. 2 minute walk to the River Thames. 1 minute walk to Trafalgar Square, 5 minute walk to Covent Gardens and so on. Everything was on our doorstep. The price was also very reasonable.

If you were to stay I would recommend bringing some picnic glasses so you can have a drink in your room and eat out for every meal. It's a great place to stay if you're only using your room to sleep in. I would definitely go back.
