“Original Hotel in a Well-located Area!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2009

We spent the whole weekend at Cleveland Square Hotel not expecting much of it, but I must say what a hotel!! When we arrived to the hotel we thought it was a conventional old London house refurbished to be a hotel, and as soon as we entered to the main reception we couldn't be more surprised: Very elegant entrance and nice staff. Our room wasn't really big but still it was very comfy, and the design of the walls to separate the toiltet were rather strange as they didn't reach the ceiling. Despite of that, toilets were great too, and our little built-in kitchen was amazing! Many people complain about the noise that air conditioners make, which is true although I didn't really bothered about it as it wasn't as escandalous as some people say.

In general, I totally recommend this hotel. If I have the chance to go again I'll definitely do it!

Near Paddington Train Station and both Queensway and Bayswater Tube stops. Very convenient and helpful when one or the other tube lines are congested or closed and getting to and from Heathrow. Quiet area, yet only 3 blocks from amenities. Updated, yet quaint. Helpful, courteous staff! Seven days, 2 rooms for 4 adults, very inexpensive. Kitchenettes saved on breakfast and handy for late night snacks and drinks. Free WIFI throughout! Cleveland Arms (pub) just down the street-great atmosphere and cheap drinks! Only drawback, no private outside seating. We will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Cleveland Square Hotel - Beautiful building, great location sadly they were the high points. Now i should say i stayed in spaces hotel the pervious week so my expectations were high as around the same price.

back to the Cleveland - the entrance is beautiful... the staff very warm and friendly couldn't do enough to help. i had paid for a Queen deluxe studio apartment .. being helped to my room number 3 in the basement. the room appeared clean. newly furnished. only one window with the view of the smoking area. :) but seemed a ok size for couple's or a single.

Note in room 3 no phone signal on the o2 network day and night... but free wireless internet. ! also No cooking pots or pans. though the room had a kitchenette. as u will see from my photo's only one plug in the kitchen area so they supplied a stupid very long extension lead which was a health hazard with the kettle and toaster being plugged in.

Heating - the air con though u have some controls just pumps out cold air. very noisey, i woke in a freezing room again and again.

Shower - fitted incorrectly. the shower head just points to the sky when turning on
my first night the shower tray started to fill with water.. i ended up pulling a ton of hair out of the plug hole... not nice...

i was staying for a week due to work, and i would say Great links via queensways and bayswater tube. also great restaurants locally " harlem bar - great steaks and bourbon"

but overall my experience wasn't the most pleasant let down by the small touches and the general layout. real shame...

Very cleverly photographed on website- be prepared for a 'cosy' room, even though we upgraded to a better room. Staff etc were pleasent. Quite good value for money location wise- however i would like clean bed linen!! ensuite small, kitchenette good.

Stayed 2 nights here. Was reasonably convenient, close to Bayswater and Paddington. Just don't understand why they have 2 burners but not a saucer or a frying pan to cook or fry an egg. You have to be a microwave wizard. Would have helped if there was an electrical socket where the kitchenette was. Has to take the toaster and the water cooker to the otherside of the room which we found little of a bother.

I found the shower water on offer in the morning was cold only. A little frosty, I asked reception to sort it out. The situation was the same the next morning. On checking out, the manager seemed to think that was perfectly ok. Seems a pricy place for this level of service.

Lovely rooms, spotless, stylish, but aircon always set to freezing. I had to borrow a portable heater, and I still froze.

Why do hotels do that I wonder set the aircon to 18degrees, give you a control in the room which does not work?
