“Cancelled Booking Without Notifying Us”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2009

Upon arrival we were told that the booking we had made via London Booking Ltd would not be honoured, and being a full house we were told that we could be put into a another 2 star hotel which meant a trip into a zone 3 tube station.

No explanation was ever provided why they cancelled the booking as staff do their upmost to prevent you speaking to the manage Marianna.

For all that have had a nice stay then you have been lucky, for all of you thinking of staying then you had better home no issues arise as you will have no help in resolving these. Use as your peril.

I often come to London and this time I have chosen this hotel. I got good deal on booking.com and it seemed to be very nice. It's situated in north London in West Hampstead. You can get there easily by underground and also overground which is about 10mins walk from the hotel. The bus station is almost next to the hotel. The reception is across the street but it's not big deal as you have to go there only when you arrive for check in.

Everything was cleaned and pretty fine. Bathroom is big enough but the room is pretty small one. And there is only small kitchen Ikea set with microwave, water, small fridge and cooker and tea kettle. It is simple but good enough to make something quick. It is pretty fine. It was new and everything was clean.

The problem was with the noise from other apartments, so at night I could pretty clearly hear tv from neighbours and other noises too which was disturbing.

As anywhere else in London you can find shops all around the street, so if you need to buy some food, pharmacy or want to just go for breakfast or lunch, everything is close. In the ground floor of the hotel is restaurant Strada with terrace too.

In general apartments are good but on the website are presented as something special and kinda luxurious and reality isn't the same.

  • Liked — Clean, good location.
  • Disliked — Very thin walls, you can hear all noice from aother apartments.

I am pleased and relieved to say that I had a great experience at the Suites this time around!!!

There are still some cosmetic issues(paint dings etc.) but it was a quiet, clean and pleasant stay.

There is no elevator, and that is sometimes a drag, but when you consider the price and location, it is easy to get past.

The area is quiet for London and safe for single travellers, and within easy reach of the center of town. Plus there are several great places to eat within crawling distance.

Thank you for a great stay. I hope others will help dig you out of the negative hole you were once in!!!

  • Liked — great price and CLEAN!!!
  • Disliked — no elevator/phone in room

Booked through London Nights.com. 2 nights Bed and Continental breakfast for £160 for 2 adults.

We arrived and checked in through the letting agent/hotel reception across the road, thinking this was a little strange, we were dubious to say the least about what lay ahead!! Thankfully we were not disappointed and had a great experience.

Our room, although fairly small was perfectly adequate with all you would need for a stay in London! Comfortable bed, spotless well presented layout, nice small dining set up, plasma tv and small 'kitchen' area. Kettle, toaster, hob, microwave, fridge and sink. Ideal! Tea and coffee facilities provided, breakfast in room was great, basic but all you need and expect from a continental breakfast!!
Very relaxed and informal, given a key to allow you to come and go as you please. Staff great, asked for an iron and it was delivered to room right away. Local area very friendly and lots of places to eat/drink. Buses from outside the suites take you to central london (Kensington).

Highly recommended. A great bargain!!

  • Liked — Very clean, well presented, value for money!!
  • Disliked — Only one pillow each!! (but I am fussy!! )

I have booked most of my recent accommodation through Worldby.com, and i have always been very pleased with ambience and quality, but this apartment is not a highlight. Though to be fair worldby.com did pass me to venere to book this apartment.

1. the description of bar and restuarant on the website is false - there are none. you are not told that you have to collect the key accross the road.

2. the staff are rude, dont care and couldnt be less helpful

3. Continental breakfast - joke - its a couple of stale croissant in your fridge, long lasting milk and five alive.

4 The room we had was finnished to a very poor quality. It wants to be modern but has stained tables wooden floors that have not been put down right poor plaster work chip board in the bathroom and the stairs are a death trap.

5. the sheets are old and worn and i think not overly clean

Its closeish to the tube station on west end lane but i can assure you i will not be back and i want anyone considering using this accommodation to seriously consider looking elsewhere - you have been warned.

  • Liked — nothing
  • Disliked — the fact these people just want your money and do not care about your stay

Tempted by what appeared to be a 'reasonable' price, I booked a special weekend to London at the 291suites.......biggest mistake of my life.

The accomodation was not even finished. Cracks in the walls, exposed wires and cigarette burns in the carpets, noisy guests...this was more like a sheltered housing scheme

I stayed at the 291 suites located in west hampstead last week and I must say I was appalled at the standard of the accommodation and indeed the building itself.

The building smelt heavily of gas from the moment you entered downstairs which was worrying. As you proceeded up the stairs, it was obvious that this was a part-finished project, with sawdust everywhere, unpacked furniture, builders tools. It was like a building site. Also a very make shift reception which seemed to be sparingly manned.

As I went into the incredibly tiny room (more of an undersized hotel room – let alone a “suite”. Dont expect to cook anything more than toast here!) the walls were marked and dirty, the windows were wide open so the room was freezing, the “breakfast” as the receptionist called it was basic to say the least… 4 stale croissants?! The Duvet was as budget as possible and the mattress was even worse.

Then in the bathroom, the toilet seat wasn’t screwed down, the shower screen wasn’t even fixed and there were hardly any toiletries – certainly not enough for my 3 day stay.

Then – when I wanted to check out at 9.30 am – there was no one on reception to take my key and make these complaints to!

It really was disgraceful. DO NOT STAY HERE
I will never use your facilities again for my business trips to west hampstead.
