“Terrific Apartments !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We spent 8 days in a 2 bedroom flat at Cheval Appartment's Montpelier Mews property and had
a lovely time. The apartments looked very new, were of a good size, with a well equipped kitchen ( Miele appliances throughout!). The location in a lovely mews opposite Harrods is very convenient, with a Waitrose and Sainsbury stores just 5 minutes away. We had a very cold spell at the end of March and were thankful that the heating in the aparrtment was superb.

Room Tip: Ask for apartments on the top floor as these have a terrace. We stayed in apartment 8 at 20 Montpeli...

This was my second stay at the same address from Cheval Apartments Knightsbridge: 25 Cheval Place, a four story town house. The place was absolutely immaculate and well kept. The top floor houses two en-suites. The one below is a very spacious and agreeable living room, whit a working desk, very well served by electric outlets (the not so good thing is that it is a “dry” floor: if you want to go to the bathroom, to throw away what was left in a wine glass or simply wash your hands, you have to go up and then downstairs or down and then upstairs). The “ground” floor (not so ground, because it is six steps above the street level) comprises an excellently equipped kitchen with breakfast table, a lavatory and a dining room. Finally, the “basement” (again, not so basement because of the steps to the entrance door) has a “de facto” en-suite: although the bathroom is separated from the bedroom, only the occupants of this room will go down there, so then can have the same privacy of an en-suite. The location is fantastic, the small street is mostly a pedestrian one, very quiet; leaving to the left, just few steps from bus stops to all places visitors of London use to go; to the right, another few steps to Harrods and its Food Halls, to furnish the kitchen; to any side, a wide choice of restaurants in walking distance! Staying in a house will make you feel at home in London. It is very expensive and the company is inflexible in all its policies, but nothing is perfect.

Room Tip: I do recomend the town houses or the mew houses (smaller) which we visited. About wifi: It is paid a...

We've stayed at a Mew house at Cheval Knightsbridge and it was incredible! Two small but lovely rooms, two bathrooms, and a wonderful kitchen with all the facilities and a very cozy living room and terrace. Our kids ages 13, 11 and 5 loved that we could have breakfast, dinner and enough room for everyone. Despite the wonderful house, it's very well located near Harrods, with lots of restaurants, stores and grocery stores around, and within a walking distance to many interested points of the city. It was a very nice stay, we loved it.

We stayed in both the three bedroom townhouse (four levels - 3 bedrooms,3 1/2 baths, salon, den, kitchen and dining room) and the one level three bedroom 2 bath flat. Both were wonderful. The townhouse was around the corner off Brompton road and quiet. Lots of room (all baths are ensuite). Lots of great restaurants of all varieties just outside the door. We wound up staying four days longer and they were able to move us just behind the first apartment to a flat on Brompton Road. The triple glaze windows blocked out any noise on the street. The kitchens are new. The apartments are meticulously maintained. The concierge staff were very reliable and available 8am-8pm. Tube stop is one block up at Harrods (Knightsbridge stop).

Its not our first time at Cheval Apartments, we always choose Thorney Court, Palace Gate whenever we stay for more than 3weeks (since its the minimum requirement) and by far its the most enjoyable time we have in london.. Hydepark is across the street, you get a stunning view of the park and kensington high street is a short walk away. The location is just perfect!

The furniture is very english and cozy, it makes you feel that you are HOME! seriously, you dont feel that this apartment is rental, its your temp home which is what i love about Cheval Apartments. The kitchen has the best top brands appliances with fine china.

The only thing i dislike about this place is their minimum stay policy of 21days!

The Cheval Apartments are a very high quality option for families wishing to stay in London. Our family stayed for one week in a Montpelier Mews 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very comfortable - well furnished, clean, well heated and with all necessary (Miele) appliances. The bedrooms are on the small side but there is lots of storage space including a walk-in robe in the master bedroom, so suitcases can be stowed. The two bathrooms are good sized, with strong power showers over the baths. We were travelling with a 4 month old baby and Cheval provided (at no cost) a host of baby items including cot with linen, baby bath, change mat and high chair. The location is truly "awesome" - just round the corner from Harrods/Knightsbridge tube and with lots of restaurants and grocery stores on the doorstep. Service from the housekeeping and concierge teams was outstanding - minor problems (eg microwave breakdown) were resolved within minutes and airport transfers were arranged at reasonable cost.
Cheval Apartments are not a budget option, however, these are very good quality apartments with amenities equivalent to a 5-star hotel.
There is major building work going on in a building next door to the apartments - there is some construction noise and dust during the day, only really noticeable if you open the windows or use the balcony - not really an issue for February.
One watch-out: in addition to paying rent upfront, you must also pay a significant deposit of 1,000 GBP to cover dilapidation, items going missing etc. This deposit is returned (by bank transfer) only after a full inventory of the apartment has been carried out after departure.

Our work team stayed there for 2 weeks having flown in from New Zealand. We had a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in the Mews which afforded a private patio and garden. The mews townhouses are all located within a locked compound area (very tastefully designed and full of trees). Only 10 mins walk from Hyde Park, across the road from one of London's best butchers (I'm told Jamie Oliver gets his meat there!) 100 metres from Harrods and less than 30 sec to the local pub (try the pork scratchings with a cold ale!) The rooms were all modern, fantastic kitchen facilities and large lounge area. They had wireless, so we were all able to access internet. I would recommend it again in a heat beat. In fact, our team are going back there next month. Hopefully this time we won't have to watch the All Blacks being beaten by the French!
