“Rip off and rude - don't go - highly unrecommended!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Took my husband for a birthday treat and very disappointed. We left after main meal because wine was corked and when we asked for a replacement bottle, the manager accused us of 'bad behaviour' which seemed to be a defensive reaction as she clearly wasn't trained in good customer service. she was talking rubbish as we waited quite patiently for 90 minutes without drinks during dinner and watched the show which consisted of old, saggy, seedy women wiggling around - would have been more attractive with more clothes to cover the wrinkles! Only thing that was decent was food served as they tried hard to give us healthy stuff because of high cholesterol. But still very overpriced. Could have had a Michelin starred meal for less. Highly unrecommended! Much better burlesque clubs to spend money on in London.

“Rubbish”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I went with my partner. Food and drinks was over priced and bland. Service sloppy, but with the cheek to send around an overdressed hostess asking if you were enjoying yourself. At least the food was a distraction from the mess on the stage that called itself a show. You thought for that cover price they could find at least one person with a minimum of talent. Audience members dragged on stage showed more ability than the 'performers' around them. It pays to be really drunk to enjoy an evening here. Save your money and go somewhere else.

“Over priced!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

We went in a group, for a birthday. The drinks are expensive and the food was nice, I ordered the beef, and that is what I got with some leaves of spinach and gravy. If you want chips or anything you have to pay extra quite disgusting when you are paying nearly £70 a head. The show was cheesy, enjoyable but again not worth the money, it was over quickly and I have been to Burlesque nights before that have been much cheaper and lasted the evening. Although we all had a good time it was a very expensive night and not one I would recommend to anyone, better ways and places to spend money.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Volupte is a small lounge club come restaurant. There is a nice bar upstairs where you can get drinks and hangout and downstairs is where the shows are performed. We were escorted downstairs and the waiter was there very quickly to see if we needed anything. You can have a full meal or snacks we got some snacks and they were nice.

The decor is nice bits of it can do with being neatened but it doesn't take away the ambiance of the place. The staff are very professional and attentive.

The compare we had was excellent, it was excellen value for money as there were a few comedians all of whom were good and several burlesque performers - all of whom had a very unique act and were different levels of good.

It is an intimate settling so wherever you sit it's a good seat.

I think some of the meal prices were a bit high but from what I saw of what the others tables were receiving, you would enjoy your meal.

Overall a very good night would definitely recommend it.

“A real let down!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

I was so excited about seeing the James Bond Theme show for a friends birthday but to be honest it was a real let down. On arrival it looked great the upstairs bar was nice and the cocktails were good however cut to downstairs and I quickly was ready to leave! The food was OK, just ok though certainly not worth what we were charged but the show was incredibly poor.
Gracie the host actually had a great voice and I felt was a little wasted in the dingy club, it all looked very amateur once you were in the main room. Fabric thrown up anywhere and a make shift stage on the floor..... To add to this the acts were pretty poor. My friend had loved the Hurley burley burlesque show so we thought it would be a great treat or her birthday however the acts were very messy and lacked class, to be honest the whole thing felt like they'd thrown it together at lunchtime to make some cash.... A real shame as we were all really looking forward to the show.
