“A rather average hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

It's an average hotel with breakfast which is the same everyday, but if you're travelling on a budget it's still ok. The room I had was poor, the bathroom was all right. It was clean anyway so I didn't bother much. Underground is 3-5 min away.

While I realize that this property is quite inexpensive compared to most London hotels, it was not pleasant. It is old and needs updates. The room was incredibly small, but the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was good as far as the shower goes, but the light keep going out. The staff came, flipped a switch, left, and then it went off again.

We asked where someplace to eat might be. The response was, "We'll, there's a few places about three minutes that way, ten minutes the other, or you could take the underground." Basically, none of our questions were answered and staff was relatively rude. The food was mediocre at best, and the dining room smelled.

The entire place actually smelled rather old and mildewed.

Parking is difficult. There is street parking, but it is only for a short period.

It was a heat wave, which is unusual weather, but the windows only opened an inch.

We were glad to leave.

Stayed one night, 25th August. Staff helpful but hard-pressed. Double room had what appeared to be a 3/4 size bed and was small but adequate for one night. En suite was clean and everything worked. Breakfast was the most basic I've ever had, three plain cereals and toast and jam/marmalade. Juices and tea/coffee were not the best tasting, putting it mildly. For one night only I could just about handle it but would probably not book there again unless I had no other options.

I stayed there in April. Basically it was OK. The best thing about it is the price, especially for London. Another thing I really liked was location. There is a Tesco supermarket and the underground station not far from the hotel. And the park nearby is nice. The weak points are breakfast (don't waste your time on it), the room is small and quite noisy. I'd recommend it for a budget trip.

The hotel is conveniently located. The room was pretty small, but it has a nice bathroom and is a good value for London. The staff there are helpful. But staying there in the summer is rolling the dice. When it's over 80, it is extremely uncomfortable as there is no AC, with a tiny window that barely opens. I'd rather pay for breakfast (or not, as it's rather Spartan) and get AC than have free breakfast and no AC in the middle of summer (when most of their business would be there).

The hotel itself is quite old and could do with a major make-over, but for the price and location you cant go wrong. In our room the carpet and curtains left a lot to be desired but the beds were beautifully clean, and the ensuite which looked recently installed was clean and modern. Only a few minutes walk from a big Tesco and the tube station. Overall great value for money, for a location close to central London. Only complaint was the miserable looking staff who barely spoke or raised a smile!
