“Luxurious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We really loved it here. Just the job for all the tourist attractions and transport is spot on. This hotel has clearly had lots spent recentle as it is immaculate.
We were checked in smoothly and shown to the lifts. Once in the room the views are splendid as are the facilities. Restaurant was only used for breakfast but 10 out of 10 for that. Great selection and great coffee.
We would stay here again and highly recommend to all.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view....

This hotel is one of the best Hilton Hotels that we have stayed at in the UK. The hotels proximity from London bridge station was a quick 5 minute scenic walk. The hotel is situation on the main high street so it's very easy to find. It definitely looks the part from the outside fitting nicely in with all the other lovely looking tall building within its surrounding. Pablo the gentleman on front desk was absolutely amazing. He really made the checking in process quick and easy, and being Hilton gold members we received an upgrade to an executive room. The ambience of the hotel is very modern and classy and it really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. This is something which we feel is massively important to us with a ushered that we stay.
Our executive room was very spacious. Being on the 10th floor we had amazing views of the city. The executive room we had was probably one of the most spacious and well designed executive rooms that we have stayed within the Hilton group in the UK
The executive lounge is quite small and the seating could in our option had been more comfy and better spaced out. The roof terrace was a lovely feature of the executive lounge offering fantastic panoramic views of the city. It definitely deliver the WOW factor. The choice of food and drink at the executive lounge was perfect, great selection of deserts and light bites all of which we enjoyed. The quality of the food was probably one of the best that we have from all our Hilton executive lounge experiences. We would definitely recommend an executive room with executive room access. If we did not get this upgrade, we would have definitely paid the extra money as its worth every penny.
We had dinner at the main restaurant. The service we received was exceptional. The waitress was polite and very friendly. I must recommend the almond batter cod and chips. I'm a big fish and chip fan and I have to say that the fish and chips ordered was the best ever. I highly recommend!!!!
I was massively let down by the quality of the breakfast. The selection of items where quite small. The toast machine kept burnt the toast even the the lovely waitress eventually got the correct setting. The scrambled eggs where runny like porridge. I was quite put off so I cut my breakfast short. This is the only constructive negative feedback that I have to make. I have marked the hotel 5 out of 5 regardless of my negative feedback regarding the breakfast as I feel that maybe I had breakfast on a bad day???

We had afternoon tea at the Hilton as part of a package (Buyagift.com) after visitng the Shard.
Very pleasant dining room, and the staff were very welcoming. We had a superb afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and little cakes. The food was presented well and delicious! Our waitress Tatyana was very knowledgeable about all the different teas available and very helpful throughout our visit, she made us feel special as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Would recommend this hotel for afternoon tea.

Stayed here with hubby due to a power cut at Hilton Doubletree where we were originally booked into. Hotel staff were very good to accomodate us and all the other guests being transferred over from the Doubletree, at such short notice. The room we were relocated to was, unfortunately, a disabled room which wasn't ideal as neither myself nor my husband have any disability. Also when you flushed the toilet, it sounded lke a ship's hooter and went on for several seconds. But alas, as it was only for one night, we did not complain. The bar area was lovely, but we had been expecting to sit out with views over the city in the Doubletree, so it wasn't quite the same for us. The meal in the restaurant that evening was lovely and prices were reasonable for a London hotel. What I did notice is that they put 10% on all your bar/food bills for service, so this can add quite a bit on to your total bill. The staff here were lovely and they even arranged for a free taxi transfer back to the Doubletree the next morning.

I am glad that we were able to accommodate you when the Doubletree hotel had a power outage. We tried our best to accommodate all their guests but unfortunately you received a room with a disabled-friendly bathroom. We would have accommodated you in a different room if we had any spare rooms on the night.

I am glad that you loved the food quality and wish to highlight that the service charge is 100% discretionary and that you can expect the same at the Doubletree hotel. We would gladly remove this for you if you requested us to do so. The bill does state that it is discretionary and not a mandatory charge.

I hope to be able to welcome you back one day in the not too distant future.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was great and had a lovely selection and room had everything I could need. Ordered room service, the food was lovely, but be warned, there is a £5 service charge. Only downside was the lack of parking, but only a 5 min walk

If you want to be close to the Tower of London, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, HMS Belfast, Tate Modern, Borough Markets and the Tube then this is the place to be. The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and breakfast is great.

We were booked into this hotel as part of a package for the Lords Ashes Test. We still haven't worked out why, as it is nowhere near Lords - or anything else you might want to do in London, like theatre, shopping or sightseeing. Maybe all other guests were visiting the large accounting firms with offices nearby? Having said that, it's an area with some reasonably well done regeneration and some reasonable restaurants. This is handy to know as the prices in the hotel restaurant reflect the Hilton's apparent policy of gauging its customers at every turn. Speaking of which, £15 a night is extortionate for wifi that works, unlike the free service in the lobby which is only up to the most basic tasks. Another significant issue is the room fridge, which is one of those that charges your credit card if you move anything. As we were staying in very hot weather we wanted to store some personal stuff and asked for the fridge to be cleared. This was cheerfully done, but every night the fridge would lock itself with our stuff inside. They were apparently having system problems! Actually the staff were extremely helpful in clearing up the litany of problems caused by the hotel's policies and systems - but surely that isn't what they're there for. By the way, the breakfast was really not up to standard, and appallingly laid out so that guests were perpetually tripping over each other. Not a hotel we'll return to, and probably not to other Hiltons either.

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback about your stay. I am sorry that you disliked the location that your tour organisers chose for you to stay in but I was a little puzzled about your comment about not wanting to stay in our area.

We are ideally located in terms of shopping, theatre, transportation modes, restaurants and pubs as well as tourist attractions. Some of these include Shakespear's Globe, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, HMS Belfast etc.

We are located a short walk from London Bridge which provides easy access to both underground and over-ground train service making the West End accessible within minutes.

Our hotel does not offer refrigerators but rather automated mini-bars. The mini-bar allows you a section in which to store your personal items. For your convenience the bar is automated so if you are to remove any items your bill will be charged. There is a mini-bar menu conveniently placed on top of the desk for you to determine prices as well as a list of items within the mini-bar.
