“Amazing Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We stayed at the Rose & Crown on a recent visit to our daughter & family as they already had a house guest. We didn't expect much as the cost was so reasonable but were prepared to "slum it" to attend our grandson's 3rd birthday party. What a pleasant experience was in store. I arrived alone with a broken wrist as my husband had a business meeting in town, expecting to fend for myself. Not a bit of it, the lovely receptionist immediately sought the help of a strapping young barman to carry my bags. Our total stay was a pleasure, really helpful friendly staff, a menu catering for all tastes, lovely crowd of other customers too! We may never stay with our daughter in Streatham again, in fact on our next visit we will book them into the Rose & Crown as well. (Did I mention the fabulous shopping experiences in Wimbledon Village....)

Room Tip: We were in room 1 on the ground floor, if you are not an early riser - the maids gather outside in...

Stayed here as close to center of Wimbledon where daughter is living. It looks like a standard pub from outside but it has a few good rooms and a car park. I have previously stayed in the HI in south Wimbledon(Colliers Wood) and also the Fox and Grapes in Wimbledon but this place was a good find. Booked online on Youngs website. Car park by side of pub, barrier entry but it opens as you drive up. V friendly staff on reception. Good double room with everything you could require. Comfortable bed and room was clean and tidy but not brand new. Good TV. loads of channels. Free WiFi. Breakfast included and free parking. I did not eat in the pub but the meals looked good and standard pub fare. Breakfast was cooked to order and also continental selection. Pub caters for locals and has sports on TV. Overall a good mix between pub and hotel. Staff were great. I will be back again when next in Wimbledon

Room Tip: I was in 6 which was a large room and v comfortable.

We stayed at The Rose and Crown in Wimbledon for one night as we attended a party in the area and although we didn't expect a lot, we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation. It's clean, comfortable, got nice staff and it's in a very central location. The pub is busy and noisy but the rooms are nice and quiet. Ours was on the ground floor next to the car park which doesn't sound appealing but was actually ok. Breakfast was good as well. No wonder its popular around the Wimbledon tennis championships. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms of a similar quality I believe.

I stayed at the Rose and Crown for 3 nights after spending a week in central London at an upper end hotel. I have to say I preferred the Rose and Crown. A much nicer environment. More comfortable and relaxed. The staff was extremely helpful at all times. The rooms were great. Highly recommend it and I will definitely stay there next time I am in Wimbledon.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Rose & Crown. We were attending the London 2012 tennis at Wimbledon. We were really pleased with our choice of accommodation.
It was only about 10 minutes walk from the Wimbledon venue itself so it was great not having to travel much on the day of the event, with London transport being so busy during the Games. It was approximately 10-15minutes walk from Wimbledon Underground station, mostly uphill, so you might want to take a cab or bus if you have a heavy bag.
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. They were well equipped with a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and big TV. Unfortunately I struggled to work the TV which required 2 remote controls! The staff were friendly and very helpful, sorting things out quickly when I tripped the electrics in the room with the iron! They also were very obliging and stored our bags for us when we arrived early in the morning before our room was ready. The atmosphere in the bar area in the evening was lovely. We ate in the hotel on the first evening and watched the Olympic opening ceremony on the big screens. The outdoor seating area was really nice but unfortunately it was raining so we sat inside. There are also loads of nice places to eat really close to the hotel. Breakfast was great with a good selection of cooked options, cereals and fruit.
Overall, the Rose & Crown is a great spot to stay and very convenient for Wimbledon. It was fairly pricey but I guess that's to be expected during the Wimbledon Championships and Olympics.

Stayed July 6th & 7th managing to get tickets for the mens semis at Wimbledon. Nice location for the tennis. Pub always busy which only adds to the atmosphere. Rooms, yes a bit pricey, because of Wimbledon but who doesn't take advantage of events in the area no matter where you go. Would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.Nice breakfast , stayed in the feature room & all in all had a really good time obviously helped by the tennis as well.

Stayed here for the second time during the final weekend of Wimbledon fortnight. I really like it. Most chilled check in ever. The pub is a great mix of old and new, The rooms are clean and comfy. Breakfast is fine with friendly layed back staff. Yes it is a bit pricey whilst the Tennis is on but the convinience of being a 5 minute walk away from The All England club and just 10 minutes from the train station for me makes it worth it. The bar opens late and is busy and noisey but that for me too is a plus not a minus. If you are attending the Tennis and like a good drink then this place is Ideal.

Room Tip: Its loud downstairs so drink to excess and sleep like a baby.
