“Executive floor stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

A few months delayed in writing this, prompted to do so by just completing another stay at the property just this weekend past!

Stayed three nights in April, booked an executive floor room. In summary -
1) Well maintained room - The first time I stayed at the property was two weeks after it opened 6 or 7 years ago - Its still immaculate, the mattress seems oddly to be supported on planks of plywood but I don't know if thats the plan or an "emergency fix" for this particular property.
2) They've changed the toiletries from Crabtree & Evelyn to Peter Thomas Roth - very exciting molded bath soap bar!
3) Upgraded the old TV set to a 37"(?) LG - Those of you who have stayed here in years past and had to put up with fuzzy tv reception...Well, no more! They've even got HD channels!

The executive lounge was pretty busy most evenings, but they managed to keep the food/drinks regularly refreshed.

Service as always was polished, professional, yet friendly. I've stayed here 4/5 times over the years and its the dependable, quality delivery of both the soft and hard product that makes it easy to choose this place whenever possible.

Post-stay they closely followed up on a comment regarding a quibble over a room-service meal - it made me feel they were keen on maintaining standards, always reassuring!

We love this hotel and location, the buzz of Canary Wharf  is great. There are bars and restaurants nearby,  and good transport links i.e DLR, the tube and buses are a short walk away.
We headed straight up to the executive lounge to check in. We had opted to  pay for an upgrade to a suite, if available, and were not told that this had actually happened, which caused some confusion with the room rate. We also asked about the various opening times e.g afternoon tea,  as this was not forthcoming.  The  lounge is great, loads of seating and wonderful views of London. This is our favourite and have visited many times.
We popped back for afternoon tea and there was a variety of sandwiches and cakes, this is available from 3-6pm.
Our Junior suite was lovely and have stayed in this room twice before. The bed is large and comfortable with good white bedding. Cleanliness in the room and hotel is of a high standard. I am still not happy that Hilton have changed the toiletries, I love Crabtree and Evelyn! A new edition to the room is the tv in the bedroom area which has impressed my husband but still amazed at the in-room wi-fi charges!
The executive lounge is open for canapés and alcoholic drinks between 6-9pm. There is a good selection of both. I would like to mention the great service we received from Kevin, he genuinely wanted guests to want for nothing.
We also had a meal in the Cinnamon restaurant which we really enjoyed, the steaks were excellent.
Breakfast in the lounge was very good, lots of choice, either hot or cold, with a variety of breads and pastries. We particularly noted that the tables were cleared and cleaned down quickly, which is not always the case in other Hilton lounges.
Altogether another great stay at London Canary Wharf, can't wait to return!

Thank you very much for sharing your comments with other travellers. I am delighted that you enjoyed the executive lounge and the upgrade to the junior suite. It was also nice that you found the choice and quality of the breakfast to your liking. I have passed your comment regarding the operating times of the executive lounge to the Executive Lounge Manager.

I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

We stayed here in April over Easter and had a fabulous time. The hotel is a little tricky to find whenever you come out of Canary Wharf tube station, but once located very peaceful and quiet.

We had the opportunity to upgrade to the club lounge for £20 extra a night, which we availed off. It was great value, offering breakfast and afternoon tea - there were also beer and wine available in the lounge in the evening.

The hotel room was compact, but nicely decorated so it didn’t feel cramped. The bathroom was very spacious, including a large walk in shower and outsized bath/tub.

Overall the hotel was very clean, all staff members encountered were very polite and courteous. I definitely recommend this hotel – 5 stars!

We got an excellent deal on this hotel, £70 a night for two – I recommend keeping an eye on the Hilton website as they do offer generous discounts on this location.

I was in London on assignment for about 5 weeks and was in this Hotel. We cannot say enpough about the staff at this property. From the first checkin to departure they were outstanding.

The staff in the executive lounge could not do enough for you and alwasy were trying to go out of their way to help with anything you might need,.

The concierges could not be of more help with my wife while I worked they woudl make great suggestions and then set her up with either a car service or detailed directions on using the rail service

This was easily the most spacious room I have ever had in London. It was a treat to be able to spread out a bit. We had a wonderful view of the London Eye from our room. It is outside the city center, but with DLR and Canary Wharf tube, was well connected. Only downside is that wifi is not included in the room rate (and is absurdly expensive).

Very spacious rooms indeed for London it felt like an apartment. The hotel is very close to canary tube and round the corner from a tesco express. The service is what defines the hotel, staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble and I believe the extra you pay for the service you get is probably the correct balance. Breakfast is definitely worth the extra money and the service that goes with it is out of this world. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay Hilton Team. Will definitely staff next time I'm in London.
