We entered the lobby with a great smell of roasting toasts and coffee, but as soon as we left the place, the rest of the hotel was smelling like if something dead was rotting in the ceiling! Rooms were so small we couldn't fit both standing in it, we were unable to open to door more than 30 inches to come in ans out of the rooms. Big luggages wont enter the rooms. We were lucku enough to be backpackers. Oh, and also, our rooms smelled sooo bad that we were worried that the stench would stay on our clothes for the rest of our journey. The sheets in the bed were yellowish with stains of I-can't-tell-what on it. Horrifying! The shower has no pressure. I felt like washing myself with a tiny water bottle. Impossible to wash long hair.
Rude staff, bad service. We were glad to stay only two nights!
Would NEVER go again!

I stayed at this hotel because I needed a cheap place, and I needed it close to Clapham Common... If you do not have both these requirements, go somewhere else. It is not too bad all together, but I believe London deserves better.

I was part of a group of 3 and we paid £75 for the room so £25 each for a night. Doubt you will get anywhere cheaper in London. We were there for a night out so was perfect for somewhere to get your head down. Room had 3 single beds, bathroom with bath and shower and was all clean. Ground floor room was a bit noisy, but after a few jars, you don't notice that!
Reception areas a bit manky, but to be expected of 1/2 star hotel. All in all, I believe good value for money, and don't go there with big expectations!

If only there had been a half decent breakfast it might just have pushed it from 1 star to 2. Otherwise I agree with the majority Average man would have to dry, after shower,in the bedroom as no space in shower room. Only plus, being good clean bed linen. Fawlty Towers is paradise to this place.

Room Tip: don't, but if pushed take an inside one looking on to back (yard full of weeds),not near to fire...

I stayed here for one night as I was spending a weekend in London. It was well positioned to get into the city and is right on Clapham Common. We had a room at the front of the hotel and the road was very noisy and the traffic ran all night. Given the price, you get what you pay for so the accommodation was basic. That said though, it was clean, there was plenty of hot water for the showers and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and was cereal/toast tea/coffee juice. When I need to stay in London again I will definitely stay here again. The staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful.
