“Expensive for what you get.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I chose this hotel due to location and cost.

The old adage of you get what you pay for springs to mind.

The room was small but not as small as a colleagues in the same hotel.

Negatives
1-Cracked pain in window
2-Windows not draught proof
3-Blinds dirty
4-Curtains dirty
5-Floor sloped so felt strange
6-Limescale on shower door
7-communicatiin problems with staff with English as a second language getting order wrong at breakfast.

Positives
1-Clean bed sheets
2-Tea/coffee facilities
3-two packets of two fingers walkers shortbread fingers each day.
4-tv
5-shower was good.
6-sausage in morning was tasty

Overall I would prefer to pay a little more for a better stay.

£460 for 2 people for 2 nights not worth it.

Unless you want people walking above your head all night and to be disturbed by the incredible number of vehicles that run down Gower Street all night long.

First night, the cold and noise combined to wake me up numerous times. I found the radiator on the second night but had to turn it off as it was too hot!!! No pleasing some people but the windows were not either sound or weather proofed.

The complimentary breakfast is pretty good.

If you just use the room as a bed to sleep in, that's fine. Although the shower was excellent the seal around it's door wasn't, so the bathroom floor got rather wet.

Room Tip: Don't accept a lower ground room unless you're a really heavy sleeper!

Stayed for one night in August when my father and brother came to visit. Walked in after trying numerous hotels (all of which were fully booked) room had a double bed and a sofa bed for the three of us (not a problem). Slept well, room was well decorated and clean. Only comment would be breakfast; portions were rather small and I did leave still hungry for more cooked food.

A laptop and all accessories were stolen from my locked room at the Hotel Cavendish. Only hotel staff would have been able to access the room without damaging the lock.

Staff were very unhelpful and never responded to requests for a statement for my insurance

The first visit to Hotel Cavendish was fine but on my second visit, I was not impressed.

There were hairs on the pillows. The concierge apologised profusely and replaced them for new clean pillows.

The shower was boiling hot and couldn't be turned to a moderate temperature.

The blinds were dirty and dated and a stained lamp shade on an old plug in lamp, sat on the window ledge.

Very expensive for a poor quality experience. Will not be going back

Room Tip: Look at the sheets to make sure they are clean first.

We stayed here on a Friday night for easy access to my exam in the morning. Was quite a pleasant stay on the whole. No major issues during our stay. Room was clean and tidy. Staff pleasant and helpful. Was fairly quiet. Bathroom was sufficient, although the shower could have been more powerful, not much water was coming out at all. Breakfast was a bit sparse but not poorly tasting.

I stayed here one night this week for work and paid £155 for the privilege. At this price, the hotel was poorly maintained and with few facilities, as well as the inevitable small rooms for an older building that had been converted. staff were, however, friendly and there was WiFi.
