“London Good place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

Premier Inn are well known to be a reasonable budget price hotel chain. They rarely disappoint! When in London it is always difficult to decide where to stay so we opt to usually use Premier Inn. Recently we stayed at Premier Inn, Kings Cross, and it was great. Just by the station - and Kings Cross/St Pancras has been refurbished to a great standard - it just gets better and better! - the hotel is in York Way about 3 minutes walk from the Station. It's a super venue, handy for the tubes into the centre of the City but quiet in the evenings. We shall certainly stay there again!

Room Tip: The first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi are free. There are various sized rooms I gather but ours was fine.

Dear Richard S,

It's always wonderful to hear when one of our guests (and a loyal fan of Premier Inn at that!) has enjoyed his or her time with us, so we'd like to thank you for taking the time to tell us so. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel during your next visit.

Best wishes,

I had to stay in this hotel as it was a last minute booking and it is close to my work place. They charged me 200 GBP per night and when I checked in there was no internet connectivity. I reminded them next day morning. No body bothered to look in to the problem. Many of the staff members looked to me as if they are just out of college and do not know the importance of customer service. I rate this hotel as "TINA" Hotel( There is no other Alternate)

Dear GlobalTravelbee,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay; we're sorry to find that you were dissatisfied with your experience. Regarding your connectivity issues, we can assure you that, owing to the importance of our business customers, we always take problems with our WiFi network very seriously. As the service is monitored and controlled off-site by our WiFi provider, it is unfortunately the case that, once they have been alerted by our receptionists to connectivity issues, there is little physically that our staff can do themselves until the problem has been resolved.

Although many of our staff members are young, this is clearly no barrier to having a firm grasp of good customer service, as testified by the majority of our guests.

Best wishes,
Nick, Reception

We were visiting London and wanted to stay overnight at this hotel. We arrived mid-morning and asked the staff if we could store our bags there before checking in as we did not want to walk around London with them. The staff were great allowing us to do this.

Throughout the stay, all the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous.

Dear Steve H,

We're happy that you were pleased with our service, and thank you for your review. Guests who arrive before the 14:00 advertised check-in time and cannot be provided with a room are always more than welcome to store their luggage, free of charge, until one can be provided for them.

Best wishes,
Nick, Reception

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The staff are happy, helpful and considerate. The two breakfasts and one evening meal we had were delicious and good value for money. The only problems I had were our electronic door keys stopped working and had to be changed for new ones twice. The main foyer walls look like they could do with a fresh coating of paint and even though we were four floors up the noise from the buses outside, on the main road, was very disturbing at night when we needed to get to sleep. I think this hotels location makes it a good choice for a sort stay break but we will most probably book into somewhere different in London for our next visit.

Dear Maxine E,

Thank you for your comments. We're very sorry to read that you feel as if you have to look elsewhere during your next trip to London. We take pride in the fact - and many of our guests will attest - that we make every effort to insulate visitors from the noises of an ever-active city; so we're just sorry that we let you down on this occasion. For particularly light sleepers, we would always recommend inquiring after one of our internal-facing rooms - many of which look onto an (open-air) empty courtyard at the rear of the hotel.

We hope you will consider giving us the chance to make it up to you.

Best wishes,
Nick, Reception

My family and I stayed at the King's Cross London Premier Inn at the beginning and end of a two-week visit from the US. I cannot say enough about how great the hotel is. A few highlights:

1. Staffing: Compliments to Abid and all the staff who were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. Online check in was easy and they made every effort to let us check in early and check out a bit late. They helped arrange for a cab very easily.

2. Security: You need a key card to get onto your floor and you are regularly greeted by several staff who monitor the lobby in a helpful way.

3. Quiet: We got a room at the end of the hall which was very quiet.

4. Location: Absolutely key: Kings Cross gets you everywhere and it is only a few minutes walk to the Tube and the rail lines

5. Food: For my kids, being within 100 yards of a McDonald's was important and it was essential for my sanity. Pret a Manger, Nando's, Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Regina Pizza are all very close by for those nights you want to eat close to home.

6. The room for a family of four was clean, spacious and air conditioned.

I often stay in Premier Inns when going on trips on which 5* hotels are not a priority, and I have to say that this is one of the best Premier Inns I've stayed in, and I have already booked a second stay for a theatre trip later in the year. The location is unbeatable if you're travelling by train into King's Cross (the hotel is literally right next door) and want a base from which you can explore all that London has to offer, the room we had was large by London standards and spotlessly clean, and the air conditioning and free wi-fi were appreciated.

Dear Spangletastic,

Thank you very much for your kind comments. As you say, one of our greatest advantages is our fantastic location. Not only are we proximate to both King's Cross and St. Pancras International stations, but our location next to an Underground station and a multitude of bus routes provides our guests with easy access to locations across the city.

Best wishes,
Nick, Reception
