“Definitely budget but acceptable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2015

Room was clean and adequate size with tea and coffee facilities.
Can hear everything going on from other rooms. Bathrooms need renovating. Very old fashioned and unkempt.
Worthwhile for a cheap and easy place to stay in lndon

Firstly, this is NOT a hotel or of hotel standard.
However, if you're not expecting a hotel, but are instead expecting a hostel, than this is perfect.
Obviously, the decor could be cheered up and the shared bathrooms made nicer, but for the ridiculously cheap price in the middle of central London you really can not complain. Myself and friends booked accommodation as we were going to a gig in Camden, and then a club in South Kensington, and so needed somewhere just to keep our bags, get ready, and catch a little bit of sleep.
The beds are very nice with lovely fresh linen and fresh white towels, our room was spacious and the sink in the room was very useful. The shared bathrooms were grotty, but we were expecting this, and the showers had plenty of hot water which was all we needed. The staff were perfectly friendly and we encountered no problems, obviously its quite noisy as it is more of a hostel atmosphere, but when you're young, this is what you want anyway. We met some very interesting people!
All in all, I would definitely recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay after going out in London, but it is definitely not a family hotel. I would stay here again next time- this is the best priced accommodation in central London.

This is ok if your only staying one night, and don't mi.d sluming it! location good, its 5 minutes walk from kingcross station, very noisey, but it is London! Shared bathrooms are disgusting, no hot water in the shower! There are tea/coffee making facilities but no cups to drink it out of, I asked the receptionist for a cup/mug,it took her a while to understand, then handed me a plastic cup with a split in it!!! Theres a Costa 1 min away so used that instead!
The whole place needs refurbing and cheering up!
I would stay again if I felt the need to stay In Central London. Crash and go!

For a last minute stay close to the station all I wanted was a low cost, basic hotel.

On arrival I was disappointed at the state of the accommodation but was prepared to tolerate this. I wouldn't be coming back.

My stay was satisfactory, although the shared bathroom was the worst I'd ever seen - anywhere!

More worryingly, my debit card was charged again a week later. I queried this immediately by telephone and email which was ignored. It is now in the hands of the bank's fraud department.

Avoid!

The budget hotel did what it said on the tin, it wasn't awful and for the price we paid served a purpose. That said, the room was dark and damp and the communal shower didn't work and the staff were unfriendly. I would have no problem staying again if I needed somewhere to stay on a budget last minute just for somewhere to stay but would not recommend if you wanted somewhere nice to stay and enjoy.

Well, what can i say...you get what you pay for! £39 for a double room in London seemed good....too good to be true. It was late and it was better than trecking round trying to find somewhere else, or sleeping on a bench!!
A small amount of money on the owner's part would have improved it, maybe box off the reception from the metal bunk beds and junk in the reception area, cheap carpets would have been better than crusty stained burnt (by an iron) ones. The shared bathroom would have been ok, if the shower had been a proper one, not one attached to the bath taps and in danger of falling out of the loose holder on the wall. The view ( over a yard with various unused items in it) could be improved by tidying and being very close to the King's Cross station and noisy trains couldn't really be helped in that area. Someone actually manning the reception would have been good too, when we arrived to the unlocked front door at 10pm. On a good point the bed was ok...oh and there was free wi fi

Room Tip: Go somewhere else!
