Wasn't sure about booking this, due to the previous poor review on service, but went ahead due to the location, which is very nice, with lovely views over the Thames.
The staff were very friendly, without the fawning and constant interruption which you find in some restaurants.
We were in for lunch, which had a good choice on the menu and service was very efficient. The wine is ridiculously expensive, but I've yet to find a good restaurant in London where that isn't the case. Lastly, the food was delicious, and portions a good size for a lunch.
Small quibble about the lack of space between tables, but I suppose it is a brasserie and not a restaurant.
I would definitely go back on future visits to London.

The guidebooks recommend stopping on the 8th floor for some fabulous views of the Thames and to enjoy a snack, drink or a meal. The signs upon exiting the elevator indicate there's a public observation area... But, upon entering either the restaurant or the bar, the OXO staff was rude and certainly didn't encourage one to linger. We were eager to have a late lunch, but the staff indicated they weren't serving food at the time. We then asked about the observation area and the waitress painfully pointed to a small patch of the patio that you had to navigate behind furniture and shelving to access. While briefly standing on this small terrace outside, another OXO waitress came out an literally rammed a beverage cart into us to get us to move. We were nicely dressed, no sloppy shorts or "tourist" attire...so we were quite taken aback by this rude treatment. We had considered having a drink in the restaurant, but after that experience, we left. So travellers, don't bother stopping at OXO, instead spend your money on the London Eye or the fabulous free views from the different levels of the Tate Modern , which is only a short walk away.

The dishes are ok. However, the restaurant is very hot in summer time during sunset (around 6:30-8:30) since there is no fans & air-cond. We were sweating and finished our hot dishes. It is a good place other than summer time since the restaurant have a good view facing Thames river.
The price is very expensive (GBP39+15%).

Great experience, good food but a touch expensive for the portion size... Fantastic views and the bar was a nice end to a great evening, ideal for relaxing with friends. I would definately visit there again.

I found it to be a surprisingly accommodating place, although it looked deceptively small on the outside there seemed to be a lot packed in there, and yet it was still comfortable, intimate, impeccably clean and well maintained.

I took several friends up the Oxo Tower a few nights ago. They are usually quite traditional on where they choose to eat out and had their reservations at first. But now they've tried it, despite feeling slight discomfort at first, they eased into it in no time and developed a real taste for it. They all agreed on what an enjoyable and alternative experience it was, how they felt satisfied by what was presented without being over-full. They're keen to repeat the experience soon with their family and friends.
