“Great location and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We only stayed for one night at the hotel but wish we could have extended our stay. The hotel was excellent in all areas; friendly and helpful staff who gave us an upgrade to a superior room, an excellent breakfast buffet and a comfortable bed with the room having a selection of useful facilities such as a safe, mini-bar and pillow choice. There was work taking place next to the hotel but we didn't feel disturbed in any way and the view across the Thames to the House of Parliament was a real bonus. We will definitely be back the next time we are in London.

Room Tip: Ask for a river-facing room.

Stayed in London for two nights for a works Christmas party. The previous year we had upgraded our room but this year decided against the extra expense. Luckily we were still given an excellent room with with great views.

Despite the good location the rooms are quiet and feel spacious with plenty of space for luggage etc.

Breakfast is help yourself and plentiful but just be warned it gets very busy and very hot down there!

Parking is difficult but we did find a hotel a few streets away that let us park there although not very cheaply as to be expected on London.

In all nice hotel, bar is not cheap but the cocktail list is good. Do check your bill before you settle up as ours included a huge tip that we hadn't left.

....Inside it's quiet and modern, clean and comfy. The staff are delightful and the Chino Latino menu is delicious.... It's in the middle of a building site, but it doesn't show once you're inside. Though the views overlooking the railway line are really huge and wonderful, they can be noisy unless you're above the 2nd floor.

A large hotel halfway between Vauxhall and Waterloo - a bit of a backwater really, given the limited transport connections.

I had a standard room on the 9th floor. The rooms are just fine - reasonable bed, safe, mini-bar, air conditioning, decent shower. The sound insulation both between rooms and externally leaves a lot to be desired. My room overlooked a building site and was next to the railway, so fairly noisy 24/7.

There is free wifi in rooms which was pretty fast, but it was broken for the first day of my stay, leaving me struggling to get a good enough phone signal to check e-mail.

The breakfast is a bit of a mixed bag. The cooked food is fairly standard and cooked in bulk, but at least they have improved the sausages since my last visit. Fried eggs were however a real rarity, one morning I found one left in the tray but it looked decidedly unappetising. I had actually planned to skip the cooked breakfast and have a croissant or two, but they only have small, stale-looking ones rather than fresh.

All in all I wouldn't choose to stay here again because of the location and lack of peace and quiet.

Booked this hotel from Hotwire for a great rate while seeing London for the first time in August 2014. The hotel is an upscale, modern designed hotel and provides free wi-fi throughout, including in suite. Check-in was fast and effortless. We upgraded ($25GBP's /night) to a suite as regular rooms could only accommodate two people and we had our daughter along.

The hotel itself is about a 5-10 minute walk to the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey area. Buckingham Palace is approximately 15-20 minute walk. Walking in London's Westminster area is busy because of crowds, but very doable.

Our room had a city view, but not Thames view. It had two rooms with a queen bed in main room and a pull-out double sofa in the other. Both rooms had LCD TV's and the washroom was large, very clean and had a separate glass shower(big) and a jetted tub. The room had A/C. The bathroom was tiled with marble, very nice. Spa quality essentials (shampoo/conditioner/cream, etc) were provided each day.

The main room had a mini-fridge built into the cabinet below the tv, which was handy. The hotel provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine as we were celebrating my 50th. Nice touch!
Service at the hotel was top notch and the concierge was very helpful with tips around the city.
There is a bar and restaurant on-site, but we didn't try them. Breakfast was available for $12GBP per person (approx. $23CDN).

Adjacent to the hotel was a small convenience store which had groceries, wine & beer and most kinds of snacks/pastries.

Note: there is construction going on all around the hotel (other properties being built), but we didn't noticed noise in the evening and were exploring all day, so not a factor for us.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Park Plaza Riverbank and felt it met our needs well.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgraded Thames River view.

My friend & I went to the Longines Global Champions Tour at Horseguards for 3 days 14th - 17th August Booked a room with a good view at the Park Plaza Riverbank and this is what we got, super room, fantastic view of Houses of Parliament/Big Ben., exactly as this picture. Friendly helpful staff. Walked along riverbank, over bridge and to horse show. Couldn't have been better we had a fantastic time. My son who lives in London recommended this hotel and it was as he described. There are some great local places to eat.
Would recommend to all.

Room Tip: get a room on 9th floor views are fantastic and very quiet

On the positive side - The riverview room/suite had great views and was very spacious. However, main grumbles about this hotel were check in - arrived at 2pm check in time and we had to wait over an hour in the bar and it was only after hassling the staff after an hour that we eventually got our room. Reading through previous trip advisor posts this is obviously a common occurrence which the response from the hotel to these reviews is purely lip service because they have not changed a thing. Should not have to wait over an hour to check in. Check out was marginally better. Had to queue for 10/15 mins to check out too! Crazy. Breakfast was hit and miss. Again similar to previous reviews and obviously the management pay no attention and continue to carry on in the same manner.
Tea lukewarm
Food not hot
Food slopped all around serving areas. Serving spoons used for more than just one dish! Eg baked beans all over mushroom serving spoon etc.
Table we were given still had dishes all over it and food on table and was not set up for us.
No pepper, only salt which wouldn't come out of hole.
Waiter cleaned table by sweeping food onto floor! Did not actually wipe table!
Clearly understaffed and the breakfast restaurant on 1st floor was only 1/3 full of patrons!
We would have expected more from this 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: 4th floor or higher with a river view.
