“A big rip off”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

The first room I was given was the worse room I had. The shower and sink were only ideal for children as there is no way a grown up can shower comfortably in here. The toilet was in the corridor and had no lock. The room had no communication even if we were promised WiFi. TV did not work well and the bed linen had a funny smell.

2nd day after complaining twice, the room was changed and this room was a big improvement on the first on, even though the shower was still the size of a wardrobe and there was no WiFi still.

BTW, for breakfast if you want anything other than a toast, coffee, hard boiled egg or fruit you pay extra.

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs rooms 2 and 3.

Worst ever. I can not begin telling you how bad it is. Worst thing is that outside and the corridors are so posh.... but when you get in the room dissapointment kicks in and if you need to use a bathroom.... run away screaming

The worst hotel ever. When we got in they make us wait for a long til one of the staff told us the "truth" , a cab was coming to pick us up because the room we had booked in advance was not available and we had to stay in another hotel in a different place. But, as we arrived there, the guy of that hotel didn't know anything about the Eaton Hotel, about US and they asked money for the stay. This story is unbelievable!!!

The trick is: the location is great and you may think it is a good hotel. The price also suggests that.
Well... you would be wrong! The entrance is from a very small door, the taxi driver did not believe there is an hotel there and asked me if I really wanted to go there!
The building looks shabby... and it is!
You have plenty of alternatives in the area, just don't go to this hotel!

Thank you for taking the time to write the review about us on Tripadvisor.
I was very surprised to read your comments as we have recently spent a good deal of money refurbishing the hotel.

OK. Lets start with the positives.

Having done that, seriously - do not stay at this disgusting hotel. At the price I wasn't expecting the Intercon but I can't remember staying a more unpleasant hotel. Backpack hostel in India is the closest I can think of. The room was tiny, cold and horrible cabine bathroom that was dirty and had exposed wires behind the bare bulb light fitting. I was on the ground floor and had a window that you couldn't close at the top hence the freezing room or lock at the bottom. The bed had a single blanket and a single foam pillow about 2 inches thick. I felt like I was in cell.
Don't do it!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the hotel on Tripadvisor.
However whilst we welcome constructive criticism I do feel your comments are a little harsh.
We have spent a good deal of time and money recently on an extensive refurbishment programme at the hotel as the the previous two reviews demonstrate.

I have just arrived at Belgravia Mews hotel and I am pleasantly surprised! Yes,its a bit annoying having to check in at the reception down the road, yes its annoying that our room is up 4 flights of steep stairs but.....unlike the terrible reviews the room is clean, nicely decorated, spacious, the tv works and we have a good size en suite bathroom, ironing board and hairdryer!!Great location for what we need it for, close to Victoria station and the cheapest hotel by hundreds of pounds for marathon weekend! I would recommend!

I booked this hotel very last minute for a very reasonable rate without looking at the trip advisor reviews first which is something I would never normally do. We were quite worried after reading the reviews but were so relieved on arrival! The reception area is pretty fancy as mentioned in other reviews and we were told we had been upgraded to a room in topham's hotel which is where you check in. The room was perfect for 1 night, adequate size, slightly shabby around the edges but clean and the bed though small was very comfortable. We paid 60 quid for the night and would have been happy to spend up to 100 considering the size of the room and the excellent location!
