It was actually 2010 the first time I've been to this pub. Wapping - the area where it's situated - is a very welcoming and quiet area just east of the Tower of London, and a great escape if you wish to break free from the tourist crowds.
The Town of Ramsgate is dating back form the 16th century, and if you ask it to any of the bar workers you will be presented a free leaflet telling you all about it. This is a locals pub mainly, but with tourists being more than welcome. A great terrace is at the rear of the building, facing the river Thames. A stairs on the side of the building - google 'Wapping old stairs' - leads you to the foot of the river, but be wary as it can be slippery.
Beers and ales are reasonably priced with during the day time the place being peacefully quiet, and in the evening it's cozy and alive. You won't be disappointed. It is easy to reach by Overground, route 100 bus and it's very close to the Tower of London as previously mentioned
