Owner description: It's fun, it's quirky and it's different! Perfect for all ages, it's the only way to experience the sights and sounds of central London on land and river without leaving the comfort of your seat. Departing from Chicheley Street SE1 (just behind the London Eye) our amphibious vehicles drive past famous London landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square before a dramatic launch into the River Thames from our slipway at MI6. All this on vehicles used for the D-Day landings in 1944.

“Not worth the high cost”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2007

Went on this early August.
Cost was GBP55/equiv. of EUR86. for 2 adults and 2 kids.

I think you could get a combined bus tour/river cruise for a lot less, so I would suggest you shop around, as this experience did not command such a high price.
Also the tour was due to last 75 mins, but I reckon it was nearer 60 mins in on peak traffic.
If you are determined to go, I would suggest you book in advance at peak times, as we only got on because we had booked in advance.
Guide was not great, not funny, and generally you felt he was not making to effort. Would not recommend.

A similar DUKW tour in Dublin lasts longer, and costs EUR60 for 2 adults and 3 kids.

“It is fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2007

Another tour of London, but with a difference since it incorporates a ride on road and on water remaining on the same vehicle.

The splush in the river is really fun, particular if you stay at the back of the bus and you are showered.

For the rest a normal tour with the guide outlining the top attractions of the area as in any other tour.

“Informative and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2007

Read the somewhat mixed reviews and decided to give the tour a go with my partner. It is definetely worth picking up the 2 for 1 vouchers if travelling by train, as at £17.00 each it is pretty steep.
We went on the 3.30pm tour on a Sunday afternoon and due to a war protest we went round the city of London rather than the regular tour. We waited with trepidation for the guide, but we needn't of worried as the guy- Steve- who had worked in the city for 30 years, was a mind of information and was worth the money alone. I learnt many an interesting fact about London and it really made our day. The trip into the water and up and down the Thames to Westminster was fun also. At around 75 minutes the tour was an ideal length, but as is so often the case it is the people you meet that can really make or break a trip like this and the guide was truly exceptional.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2006

I went with my mother and my son onto one of the tours last week. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience - everything from the booking team through to the boarding staff and the crew were immensely helpful. The tour itself was a wonderfully novel way of seeing London, and the tour guiding is just fantastic!

“good for children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2006

This tour is good for children because it doesn't last too much and because in one time you have a tour and a little cruise. Children, but not only children, will love the idea of going into the water with a bus(or something similar)!
