“Clean and well equipped flat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We stayed here for four nights and were quite pleased with the flat: Modern, new, spotlessly clean end very well equipped. Best hotel bed, we have ever slept in. Nice big bathroom with lovely complimentary shampoo, shower gel etc.

However there where some set backs:
1. The lack of a reception. This turned out to be a major set back all though the cleaning staff were trying to be as helpful as possible. But they were all of Eastern European origin and spoke poorly or none English at all. It would have been very helpful and welcoming if there had been a reception to turn to on arrival, during our stay and when leaving the place.
2. The lack of a sign saying "Apple Apartments". We found the place on our own, but had to guide quite a few guests in the right direction. Even when you have entered the correct hallway, there is no sign indicating that you have arrived at Apple Apartments. This seems ridiculous.
3. The WIFI did not work in our apartment (603), so we had to stand in the hallway in front of the staff apartment (611), where the router was located.
4. The air condition didn't work and all though we visited London in October, the temperature in the flat was 24,5 degrees celsius. We had to keep the windows opened all the time, which was quite annoying due to the heavy and noisy traffic from Commercial Road.
5. Finally: The area was quite depressing and a little spooky to walk through in the evening.

Room Tip: Avoid room 603 due to the lack of WIFI.

After our first hotel had overbooked by 3 rooms, it was a nice suprise to see where we ended that one night in London. These apartments had a very nice standard. It was cleaned perfect. Could not find a spot. Good service, even we arrived 2am. Nice view over London Skyline. Quiet area made our night sleep perfect.

Stayed one night in one of the one bedroom appartments. The appartment is big and contains the most basic with a full kitchen. 5min walk to the tube/DLR line. We got two pair of keys and free access to the WIFI. The appartment wasn`t super clean and the sofa was a bit worn. Great view over London and all inn all an average stay.

What a shame this trip was spoiled when we discovered that the (White Giant Mountain) bike, locked with a heavy steel chain to the back of the car was taken from inside the gated car park- strangely the bike was taken on a Friday, we were leaving on the Saturday which left no time to see if the bike may have still been in the building - as per management co this had never happened before, as per Security company there was no CCTV footage- theft of bike reported to the Police- they are investigating ...lesson..... do not leave your bike locked to the back of your car in a secure gated car park that you are paying 10 pounds per day for the benefit of this security.
