“£39 deal meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Booked a table on a deal, 3 course and glass of champagne, £39, seems reasonable.

The food

- Soup to start, comes cold but tasty nice
- Prosciutto with goats cheese, as you would expect.

- Both had duck for mains. You can't choose how you want it cooked. Duck was grey in colour and not pink as you would expect. As our order was taken incorrectly and they had to take it back my duck has bled out on the plate while my partners hadn't.
- Sides of skinny fries and sweet potato fries, price of these on the menu is very small so ended up costing £10 for both. My fries were luke warm and by the end of my main were chewy.

- Desert was chocolate dome which was the highlight, peach melba covered in white chocolate. The waiter then pours over hot raspberry sauce and melts the chocolate dome,

Service

- Hustle and bustle of a restaurants. Would be good if you are sitting on the sides but when sat in the middle can get quite annoying. We were originally sat on one side of the restaurant but had to be moved due to the air conditioning being to cold. Request to move towards the window not allowed.

Price

Final bill £130 including £13 service as went for 2 courses + the champagne which you don't have to have and save yourself £22.

Overall

Nice setting and half decent staff but overpriced for quality of food. There are better restaurants in the Savoy to eat at.

“An art-deco wonderland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

Glamour Glitz and Comfort - wow what a venue
Good food and adequate portions apart from the cheeses which amounted to slithers!
Now the service - a bit odd really - sometimes over the top, sometimes slightly unprofessional - took a while to determine what we were entitled to with our coupon and no request as to how our duck might be cooked.
Worth it for the experience, but expensive, particularly the wine - cheapest at £9 a glass

“Lovely Meal, Pleasant Surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

All 7 of us had a lovely meal in Kaspar's, as we celebrated a 30th birthday! Trout pate to start with, others had the parma ham & goats cheese which was a hit with all, then gorgeous, duck beautifully cooked, I ordered a side dish of mash...yummy, lovely creamy texture. Others ordered Sea Bream, one had the Aubergine Veggie dish, sides of broccoli which was just right, with enough crunch, also the sides of chips were delicious, chocolate dessert I had was fabulous, others had a lovely Vanilla Cake. Waiters friendly, helpful. Lovely Art Deco room, good ambience

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

Staff on entrance were very warm & welcoming . This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful ambience. We were shown to our table efficiently & served perfectly with our pre theatre 2 course meal. As this was a last minute.com deal I can honestly say we were treated exactly the same as all other guests ( no snobbery because we had vouchers etc) food excellent , staff lovely , drinks pricey but worth the wonderful surroundings.
Heaven & can't wait to return !

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

We booked a meal here with bookatable for three course set menu with a glass of champagne for £35 each. The meal and experience was good but it is very easy to build up the price to double this amount with pre-dinner drinks, sides, glass of wine with meal and service charge. Nevertheless it was a special occasion and well worth a visit to this restaurant. The staff were highly attentive and pleasant.
