“A true gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Really unassuming from the outside - but don't be put off, the food is amazing and by far the best Japanese cuisine you can get in South East London. The chef is delightful and such a nice character, he makes the whole experience more personal and something special. Sushimi, sushi and tempura were all delicious, polished off with a bottle of wine from Theatre of Wine across the road. We'll most definitely be going back!!

“Fabulous Local Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

As previous reviewers say, this little Japanese restaurant on Trafalgar Road does fantastic food at prices I can't quite believe. The chef used to work in a famous high end restaurant and he has brought that expertise with him.

“My favourite place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We went here first on the opening night by chance and this place gets better and better. Dickson the chef used to work in a high end restaurant in the west end and has decided to set up his own place. The restaurant is a friendly and intimate venue. We go as often as we can and would recommend all we have tried. If you are unsure of what to choose, ask the chef as his recommendations have been great.

“Now called Zaibatsu - better than ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Our family has eaten at Zin for some time on a regular basis and so we were concerned that one of our favourite restaurants would disappear when it changed hands at the start of the year. However over six visits I have to conclude that the food is better than ever. Other reviewers take note. As before the tables are formica, the exterior unimpressive - but this is not why we go there.
The owner/chef learned his skills in top class restaurants in Knightsbridge and that is the standard that arrives on the plate. The food presentation demands to be photographed before tasting. The taste is sublime. The price? a bargain (but cash only). Buy wine at the Theatre of Wine across the road to make the most of the price - corkage is not charged. Really I want Disan to do well in this location but his is the kind of restarant you want to keep to yourself. It is that good.
