“Amazing play, absolutely brilliant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Saw this National Theatre export (the 3rd following War Horse / One Man Two Guvnors) mid July at a Saturday matinee performance. The Apollo suits the play extremely well as it provides a relatively intimate venue for you to enter the mind of the lead character who is a teenage boy who finds he is different from everyone else. Mesmerising performances from the entire cast, a rivetting script, wrapped up in high production values and one of the most innovative uses of a stage / sets I have seen in quite a while. The intensity builds from the opening scene to the final act. Some challenging scenes / language, so not for younger visitors. Make sure you stay for the additional scene after the cast have taken a bow. Worth waiting for!

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night GREAT PLAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We completely loved this play. The staging, the acting, the story. It was complex and surprising both.
The adaptation from the book was so original. I would say, just brilliant. This is more than a play, its an electric event.
The play, though long, keeps you on the edge of your seat, heart beating as you relate to the main character.
The venue, the theatre is old and very ornate inside. Its pretty. Its classic! The seats are not very comfortable because they are old. You can get cushions meant for children in the cloakroom, but that helps your legs and lower parts from falling asleep.
Intermission featured ice cream for sale. Very nice for summer.

Me and my fiancé went to watch the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime and both loved it
The performances are brilliant and the stage has to be seen to be believed.

“Powerful performances”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Well done to the people who adapted this from the book and to the director and cast for putting together a wonderful piece of theatre.
Tip: don't rush off at the end......there is an 'extra'.

“A lot better than I thought it would be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

My mother suggested we go to see a west end show since it was the holidays and we decided to watch the curious incident. At first I was a little anxious but was really glad we came. All the actors were great and the effects were cleverly. Whoever adapted the book into the play must of really 'thought outside the box', since the structure of the story itself is pretty complex. The theatre itself was quite hot so ha to take my jumper off and was decorated nicely.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone but not probably for under 11s because of the profanity. It did take us three hours to get to London and is quite pricey but really worth it.
