“Worth finding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

In London, as in any capital city, finding a decent bar – especially in a touristy area like Trafalgar Square – can be quite a challenge. But, if you know where you're going or you get good advice, then you may be fortunate to be directed to this pub.

I went last Saturday evening with a group of visually impaired friends which, because the pub was very busy, was quite challenging. We started off in the downstairs bar but decided to go to a quieter part of the pub upstairs.

Although quite crowded, the atmosphere was very friendly, in stark contrast to so many other London pubs.

We soon found seats and were very comfortable. Fortunately, the staff were amazingly helpful and offered to carry ale back to our seats upstairs. Without that assistance, things could have been quite hazardous – especially as the spiral staircase was quite difficult to navigate.

Turning to the real ale, there was plenty of choice available. I tried a number of different beers, all of which were very well kept.

If you're a fan of real ale or just like a decent pub, Harp Bar is well worth going out of your way for. To be honest, the help we received from the staff alone would merit an excellent rating.

“All good at this pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We popped in here for a bite to et and a drink this Saturday whilst shopping in covent garden. The beer is well kept and plentiful in terms of choice. The food sausage and onions in a submarine roll tasty and well cooked. Just to reiterate what others have said this is. Beer pub specialising in sausage sarnies rather than a pub with an extensive food menu.

“Fantastic pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

A fantastic "classic" English pub a short walk from Covent Garden. I've been there a couple of times and the beer is always first rate with a good selection and the staff friendly and service quick even when very busy (as it gets on a Friday as people finish work).

If you like ale and are in the neighbourhood it's a must visit.

“lovely food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

I met up with son in the afternoon at the Harp. The staff were very friendly and the beer was well kept. It had a pleasant atmosphere and was a very enjoyable 2 hours we spent there. The Harp manages to combine clean and well kept with an old fashioned feel.

“A good old fashioned atmospheric ale house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Camra recommended so always in favour for our beer drinkers. Great to show overseas visitors what a London pub used to be like. Not a pub for sitting comfortably as the few stools there are are at sit up tables or the bar. The windows open wide on a nice evening.
