We have recently booked a table for 6 in Buddha Bar London. My husband and I have once been in BB in Paris and loved it, so we anticipated the same or even more pleasant experience.
That is why we have chosen the newly open BB ( out of so many fancy places in London) to celebrate wedding anniversary.
Everything seemed fine at first; the theme music and the decor were promising. However, later we have realized that there was no dj and dancing after the dinner. Simply, after the dinner slot 7-10pm, we have been expected to go home. And here was the big surprise. For those who has never been in other BBs before, we need to advise that this a unique place with a club atmosphere where the DJ performance in music compilation is the main attraction.
Indeed, the only thing that suggested bar ambiance was the tiny light in the restaurant under which guests are supposed to read tiny lines of the menu book with exotic dishes. Well, quite arduous task, but the moment you screw up half close your eyes in struggle, an attentive head wired adviser jumps ready to make it easy for you...and push on the half parboiled soya pod hors d' oeuvre and standard package meal of only £60 per person with the drinks not yet included...Somebody has already rated as overpriced for average quality and, indeed, this is the truth !
Finally, BB London at the moment is a poor imitation of the world's class competitors and that is a real shame considering its location in the core of this extraordinary city.
