“A bit of Tuscany in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

Friday evening stroll led us to this place - a hidden gem in SOHO, a place I overlooked before, paid little attention despite working nearby. We were pleasantly surprised to find a table on a Friday night. Not only that - there was lovely and professional and knowledgeable Italian service.
We came here for some wine and nibbles - a great choice. A bottle of Brunello di Montalcino and Il Misto (a selection of meats and cheeses, plus bread, focaccia) went together extremely well. The atmosphere is great and our waiter was happy to tell us about the place: who set it up, where their suppliers came from, the floor tiles, and wood for the tables. We spend there about 2 hours and the place slowly filled with people. A place in central London worth visiting, especially if you enjoy fine Italian dining and wining.

“Quality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

So glad we chose to eat here, called in for Lunch and had focaccia, mozzarella, tomatoes, salami etc. What stood out was the quality of the ingredients. A simple sandwich tasted superb. Just wish we had been in London for a few more days as we would definitely have called in again and tried one of the meat and cheese boards and some of the wonderful looking desserts. The olive oil was the best we've tried. If you want a place that serves "proper" food please try it. This place really does stand out from the rest.

“Two very large men in heaven...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

My sons and I happened upon TUSCANIC after a particularly nerve wracking, but successful, four hours in the US Embassy. It was time for food...tipping up the stuck vending machine in the embassy to shake loose our purchased bag of crisps from its tantalising pivot point had not worked and we were out of change...The 6' 4" boy is an omnivore, the 6' 10" boy is a vegan. Despite their dietary differences they are the best of friends and Mum? Well I was just eager for something that was not from a chain eaterie, where the food was fresh and the price tag not a fortune...oh yes, and after the GOVINDA experience just up the street, somewhere where people actually took time off from chatting with their co-workers to attend to the paying public (whether we be suitably spiritually enlightened or not...)

We need not have worried. TUSCANIC has it all...the most passionate and friendly and hard-working and FAST moving staff anyone could hope for, serving up a fantastic array of foods all from their native Tuscany...even the Earl Grey tea...and yes, in an age when we are all trying to eat more locally sourced food, this may be overkill...but you cannot get away from the fact the the food is beyond delicious...the bread to take your breath away...the service the most hospitable I have known in a long time...and hey, we all need a treat once in a while even if from far away...
