“Stay here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

This was my fourth stay in London from Australia and this apartment was by far the best I have stayed in for the price. Spacious, clean, modern fittings, well positioned, just minutes from the tube (even with heavy luggage.) I have already recommended it to friends.

Room Tip: Basement unit has 2 bedrooms and a garden! A garden in London!

I've stayed in a few different hotels in Hammersmith (for concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo), including the Hilton Kensington. This is much better value for money and I couldn't fault it.

We paid £120 to rent a one bedroom apartment for the night. It sleeps up to four people, so you'd be pushed to find something better for £30 per person (to put it into perspective, a night in a hostel sharing a room and bathroom with 16 people for the same date in Hammersmith would have cost just under £20 each). The Hilton Kensington would have cost £265 for 2 people.

We collected the keys from the estate agent which is about a minute's walk from the apartment itself. I paid there using my card and was asked to provide ID as insurance; this was photocopied there and then and then handed back to me. I expected to just pick up the keys but in fact we were taken there and shown round by a very friendly guy who explained everything from the heating system to the wifi details (also provided on a printout) in detail.

The apartment we stayed in was a one bedroom ground floor. *Very* big by London standards, it had a large living room/kitchen area, a bathroom with a separate bath and shower, and a reasonable double bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside tables. The large living room sofa folds out to create another big double bed.

Everything was practically brand new, there was a tiny bit of paint chipped off the walls but that was barely noticeable. An iron, and ironing board, sachets of tea/coffee/milk, mini shower gels, shampoos, soaps and towels were all provided. In the kitchen there were pots and pans, cutlery, plates, a colander, microwave, gas hob, oven, kettle etc. There was a reasonably big flat screen TV with freeview in the living room. Everything was very clean and there was plenty of storage space. We were told to call if we needed anything, and made to feel very welcome in general. No problems with the internet (Virgin Media) at all, we used it from a Nexus tablet.

It also felt like a very safe area - it's upmarket and looks nice, all the buildings are well-kept, and the flat is about a minute's walk away from a nearby 'main' street which has a nice bar/restaurant, small shop that sells wine, sandwiches etc., a crepe place and a few other things. The centre of Hammersmith is about a 10 minute walk away, and that has plenty of cafes, two Wetherspoons, various nice bars, a Subway and other places. The only problem is that you can't buy a meal after about 10:30pm unless you go to a takeaway (Charcoal Grill). One thing to note is that even the ground floor apartments are up a short flight of stairs, so be warned if you're not very mobile. Each building is divided into 2 flats as far as we could see; as with most London accommodation, it's a row of old but looked after terraced-style buildings.

The apartments are about half a mile from the Hammersmith tube station, and from there it's another couple of minutes to the Hammersmith Apollo, so the location was excellent for us. If you're going to zone 1/central London, it's about half an hour on the tube with no changes, which is pretty reasonable. Overall we think we couldn't have found anywhere better for the price/location and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in/near Hammersmith or those who would prefer to pay less for accommodation but still be fairly central.

I stay in quite a lot of hotels ranging from 5 star to 2 star, and if I were giving this a rating based on that, these apartments would easily be a 4. A small niggle was that we could hear our upstairs neighbours walk past our apartment, but this only happened a couple of times and didn't disturb us at all. Highly recommended.

It is a decent room but I realized you can get similar ones for half the price. It is quite a long walk from hammersmith station, dont attempt walking if you have got heavy luggage.Wifi is just for name sake, it hardly opens any site. I would have been in trouble had I not taken my dongle. It is clean and safe though.Enough tea bags for day1.Wash room is tiny but clean. They gave me top floor without ever giving a clue to that. I would not have taken that if I knew in advance because of the older members in family.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in January 2013, during the heavy(ish) snowfall. We booked at the last moment and after reading the earlier reviews we were mildly wary. We need not have worried. The apartment was very clean, recently refurbished and service was very good.

When we booked we were given the office address to collect the keys (out of hours you are directed to an Indian Restaurant nearby). We got there at 5pm and check-in was smooth and efficient. The office is 5-10 minutes walk from Goldhawk Road Tube station, about 10 minutes from Hammersmith tube. The apartment was a 2-minute walk from the office on a pleasant residential street. Very quiet road, no noise from neighbours and the road is a side-street so no major traffic noise. the guy who took us round made sure the boiler and heating were working before he left. the apartment is really a flat, ours was a 1-bedroom ground floor flat, with a lovely bay window at the front and was very cosy.

There are convenience shops 2 minutes from the place and within 10 minutes you can walk to Hammersmith's main street where there are supermarkets and high street shops.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore London but doesn't want to be based in the centre. Also recommended for business travellers spending more than a night or two in town who want a "homely" feel on a reasonable budget.

Room Tip: Ask for the Ground Floor flat at number 14 and I'm sure they'll knoiw what you mean - it was...

We booked this apartment for a couple of days Christmas shopping in London. The photos looked lovely. However, this was not the reality. We walked from Hammersmith tube - described as a mere 5 mins walk away - much longer than that, to the estate agency where we were told to collect the key. We were shown to our 'apartment' by a silent and very scruffy looking man. This was another walk away from the estate agency key pick-up point. The 'apartment' was actually a tiny bedsit, not at all like the nice photos we saw, what a disappointment, the hallway was also littered with mail and junk mail that obviously no one had been bothered to pick up for some time. The good points: the accommodation was warm with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. The bad points: rather unprofessional key pick-up, small bedsit, and extremely noisy neighbours. We were woken up several times both nights by noisy people in the apartments upstairs and next door, not to mention the car alarm that went off 5 times in the night.
I'm glad we only stayed two nights, would not waste my money staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Room Tip: go somewhere else. Not here.
