Hidden away amongst the mainly Asian restaurants and take outs it's a real pleasure to find somewhere the food takes centre stage. Quaint little restaurant with lots of quirks like the birds in cages and the mismatched crockery. You are immediately made to feel welcome by the delightful waitresses.
The menu is short but offers a choice that should suit most people. The wine list is similarly concise but offers good value.
We started with the planche which had some excellent duck and some very nice cold meats and pickes served with toast. The tartare which my wife had was as good as any we have had in France. My moules were OK. Bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and the 12.5% service charge and the bill came to £70 which is not bad for the area.
The bill comes accompanied by a jar of soft sweets - I could have eaten them all but wasn't allowed to!
We will definitely be returning.
