“Expensive”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

The people who run this really must look at their pricing, it's a great experience but having done it, not worth the money. Far better things in London to enjoy

Hi Dino, I’m glad you enjoyed the experience, however, it’s a shame you felt it was too expensive. Our pricing is determined very careful and as a result of that we’ve had hundreds of thousands of climbers since opening in the summer of 2012.

“What a fun activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014 via mobile

This excursion was so much fun. I wish I remembered our guide's name (I guess I wasn't properly paying attention during introductions), because he was great! He was so helpful, attentive and personable, and you could tell he loved his job, which was great to see.

This is just such a unique activity. It wasn't particularly difficult or scary, but it was just so much fun and does give you a sense of accomplishment. There is a huge emphasis placed on safety, so I never once felt unsafe or nervous. And the view from the top was great -- you could see for miles. It would have been nice if the O2 were situated closer to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, but there isn't much that can be done about that ;). I really enjoyed our time hanging out on top of the O2 as well. Our guide talked a lot about the city and shared a lot of fun stories.

They also now do wheelchair excursions at Up at the O2, which I think is awesome.

If you do head out there, there are lots of restaurants at the O2 and a few transportation options (tube goes right to the O2, but there's also a boat you can take and the Emirates sky cable). You can also see a show or movie or hit up the British Rock Music Museum before or after your climb.

“I climbed an icon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

After seeing the Elbow concert at the O2 Arena the night before, we decided to climb the venue to get an even better impression. Even as the weather wasn't too good it still was a great experience - from the instruction on how to use the climbing gear to the climb itself and the time we spent on the platform. Our guide was great, very helpful and ready to take some very cool pictures with our smartphones of us up on the platform. The climb can be done with a regular level of fitness, it is not too exhausting. Some steeper parts and a bit wobbly sometimes. Very impressive is that all the time you are walking just on a thin plastic skin!

“Something Completely Different!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

We completed our climb of the O2 on Good Friday at 16.45. It was reasonable dry and clear. The reception and instruction process at the start was straightforward even if the briefing video was a little corny. You get an option on what overalls you wear although you have to wear their climbing shoes, which were a little uncomfortable for one of our party. The harnesses that clip you to the safety line were a little awkward to put on , and you did feel a little like a trussed turkey at times, but you do get used to them, and they keep you safe!

Our instructor Callum was friendly and matter of fact, he made himself available for those who looked like they needed a little more assistance and assurance (me!!). Having a fairly low level of fitness, I did have some reservations, but it is not at hazardous or strenuous as it may first appear although it can be a little bouncy, especially if your 18 year old continues to jump up and down in front of you.

We had and purchased the photo as it was in our gear at probably the most impressive stage of the climb - it looks good! Photo was £15 - borderline expensive.

At the top you get to stop for 10 minutes to take a breather and look at the views, take pictures, etc. This was good but not outstanding as some of the views of London are obscured by Canary Wharf. However, it was interesting looking at the aircraft approaching London City Airport to land.

Recommended to do at least once!
