After visiting this restaurant I wonder if some of the negative reviewers made it to the correct location. Maybe they ended up in the self-tannign shop next door!
The food we ate was wonderfully fresh and bursting with flavour. As for portion size, we found it very hard to finish everything and ordering dessert was a testimony to my eyes being bigger than my belly.
Five of us took the set menu at 26 pounds. The table was growing under the weight os the meze. Delicious olives, crisp cumin spiced carrot, the best hummus I have tasted (soft and silky) beautiful figs with honey and cheese, smoked corn cobs, some other dips and tomato and pomegranate sale.
The mains were equally delicious, but we were feeling very full by this point.
if you get this far in your meal, you probably won't have room for dessert, but you need to force yourself. We ended up sharing desserts. The cheesecake is amazing and I will be going back for more - make sure at least one of your part orders it.
the 19.50 red wine (recession buster) was not so nice and I would not recommend it. The 27 pound bottle was much nicer and cam chilled.
Service is warm and friendly. They don't add a service charge and this cannot be added to your card. When we explained that we had no cash, the waitress said 'don't worry - maybe net time'. Try that in another restaurant and you'll be lucky to leave with your life.
the room is is Spartan with a lovely blue tiled floor. it felt like eating in a small Mediterranean cafe. I didn't find noise a problem.
oh and you must go see the toilet!
one last thing - book well in advance
