“Adequate Hotel in a great neighbourhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2009

This was our first time at the HP Radnor. It was fine. Unlike some commenters here, we found it clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and our room was ready when we checked in. The breakfast was fine and plentiful, but the breakfast room was crowded and noisy. I didn't sleep well. The beds were comfortable, but the bedroom walls are thin, and--because it is a budget hotel that appeals to younger travellers--you should be prepared to hear late-night revellers returning at all hours. The biggest plus is the location near Paddington, Hyde Park and some good restaurants. Especially recommend the Monkey Puzzle Pub just 2 blocks away at the corner of Sussex Gardens and Southwick. I would consider staying here again.

This was our second stay at the Hyde Park Radnor and we were not diappointed. This hotel is more in the budget line but the location near Paddington station is fantastic. Our room was clean and recently repainted. The noise level from neighbouring rooms is not too bad. The cooked breakfast is promptly delivered by their friendly staff and there is cereal and tinned fruit available. We arrived on an early flight and were able to leave our luggage there until check in time. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the surrounding streets as well as supermarkets a short walk away at Paddington station. It is a comfortable, affordable London hotel in a great location.

Im a middle aged woman, travelling alone and found the Radnor to be in a fantastic location, nice and quiet, good breakfast included, tiny room but adequate, nice and clean. Only problem was the maid helped herself to the food I had in my room, food that wasnt opened when she decided to eat it. She also played with my makeup, which I really didnt appreciate. I know this , as I checked it out for a couple of days before making a complaint to the management. After lodging the complaint, I didnt hear another word from the management about it. No apology, nothing, let alone compensation for the makeup I threw away , not knowing if it had been used, or for the food opened and eaten. I would recommend this hotel, but lock up things you dont want eaten or "touched". I wouldnt have written this on the review if they had just apologised to me.

We stayed at the Radnor Hyde Park for 4 nights starting June 2, 2009. After reading all the mixed reviews on this site we were quite skeptical as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and spacious by London standards, telephone, HD t.v. and the bathroom was small but clean and functional. We knew we had to bring facecloths bcse most europeans hotels do not provide them.

Staff were friendly, breakfast was good and plentiful. The elevator (lift) was a plus!

We left our luggage at reception as there was a person there at all times. For precaution, your luggage should be locked.

Location was excellent, 5 min from Paddington station! Close to the bus tours, restaurants, stores and tourist area. We would definitely recommend the Radnor to our friends.

As to Cat the American from Florida......we visited other B & B's next to Radnor and very close to it and believe me Radnor is a great place to stay while in London. You obviously wanted a hotel chain by the looks of your review....you should have stayed at a Marriott! LOL! The Radnor is not falsely adverstised....they are a budget hotel bed and breakfast and that is exactly what they were. You should have done your homework!

After searching the internet for a long time we decided to stay at Hyde Park Radnor.
It's a only a short distance from Paddington station at Sussex Place.
Our room was lovely, not huge but perfect for our 4 night stay.
The breakfast was great and the staff very friendly.
We would certainly stay again.

I stayed at this hotel from May 28th to June 1st. We had two rooms. One was 8 feet by 8 feet and the other was 8 feet by 6 feet. A tad bit chocking but the bathroom was quite clean so we did not complain.
However, the clean bathroom was the only plus. We were given each one towel, no washcloth for our 5 day stay.
The internet does not work for any of the guests above the ground floor. The staff is unaccomadating and unfriendly. There is no air conditioning and the one window in the room did not open. Very uncomfortable. They do not have a luggage room nor will they take it behind the desk. They suggested I leave my laptop in the sitting area while we walked around London on our last day and they would not take it behind the desk. They would not help us get a taxi nor would they help us book a tour despita having brochures in their lobby. At checkout they charged an extra 2% and refused to take AMEX despite the fact that they say they take it.
Room was not cleaned once over the 5 days although beds were remade daily.
Overall, I would never recommend this hotel. It is also not very convenient for the way the underground and the buses run.
WHen we asked to use the hotel safe, our room number was put on our passports. We asked if our name could go on it to protect them from handing it to anyone who said the room number. Not only did they disagree with this they refused to write our name on our passports. When we went to pick the passports up all we said was our room number. A man who was unfamiliar with us handed the passports over without even checking to see that we were the people in the pictures.
After leaving, both my father and I decided we would try and warn as many travelors as possible about how bad this hotel is. Being small hotel owners, we take pride in our customer service and this hotel did nto care about customer satisfaction.
Thanks for reading! I hope this helps!
