I am a fan of British Ales. I had one evening in London before returning home and I found the Victoria listed on several websites as a very good pub.
They were so right. Stepping into the place, you immediately feel the vibe of an old Victorina style pub.
It is a Fullers pub and they had a good selection of Fullers ales on tap. I chose the ESB that night and it was very good.
Their menu has a little of everything under British fare. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie which was delicious. The beef was very tender and the gravy was great.
The atmosphere is terrific there. Upstairs they have two other rooms, a library and a sitting kind of room. They were both reserved that night, but I went up to take a peek and found them fascinating.
If you are in the Paddington, Lancaster Gate, Bayswater area of London, do seek out the Victoria. You will not be disappointed.
