I consider myself a seasoned traveller but due to issues in my personal life I miss booked this hotel, through bookings.com, and arrived a week early. Feeling like an idiot I expected that I should be on the streets looking for a place to stay. NO,. The manager, Matthew?, sat me down with a glass of mineral water and took control. He found me a room chez M there and then for the days that I wanted. Furthermore he contacted bookings.com and asked them to rescind my non refundable fees. All without making me feel a doddering incompetent. It did not stop there. When I returned to CA and checked my bill I saw that there was an error caused by my initial misbooking. On contacting the hotel the issue was dealt with easily. I can not say enough good things about such professionalism.
As to the hotel. It is very hip and the room was great. In London unless you rusticate in the far suburbs your room is likely to feel crowded if you have even a small backpack in addition to yourself. Here the space is well used and the hi tech room controls provide entertainment in all senses of the word.
The location is also great. From LHR it is an easy tube ride and a short walk. After 10h flying the walking is good. It is also a short walk to The Globe and other Bankside attractions. Do not miss Borough market.
In summary many thanks to CitizenM management for turning a mess into a perfect 3 day stay.
